Re: Kite Runner

I loved the book, nd i cried when reading it. Khaled hosseini has a special kind of writing technique, that it really touches ur heart. However there were some things i really disagreed on.
I'll soon read his 2nd book, too and hopefully it'll be as good as the kite runner, maybe better!

good book

but number of biases.......life in afghanistan pre-russian invasion was not perfect....and the way hosseini a non-pashtun portrays pashtuns is questionnable

totally agree with u! nd i think he's generalising talibans and gives the reader a bad picture of them, which i didnt like, i mean does he even know any talibans? How can he be so sure that they are that kind of ppl, dont get that part.
Maybe a little off topic, but i think ppl should have changed their views abt the talibans after the incident that happend to the female journalist, she converted 2 islam after being released from the talibans! It's only these black sheeps of the Talibans that are exposed in media!

Re: Kite Runner

I guess I am kind of hard hearted because when I saw the movie, I was SOOOO very pissed off at the rich kid. He didnt grow balls till he found out that his best friend was dead. I wanted to smack him around till the last 15 minutes of the movie...which didnt COMPLETELY redeem him but at least he finally, finally stepped up to the plate.
