Both me and hubby kiss our baby girl (6 months) on the lips all the time. Don't see anything wrong with it! We'll stop whenever we feel like stopping :-)

This issue was never brought up in our house except for a couple times when my son wanted to kiss us on the lips around the age of 3. We discouraged it at that time. One day he wanted to kiss me on the lips and I told him daddy said no kissing on the lips and this is what he asked me........
"lips are for girls?"

Now with the new baby I kiss him on the lips all the time. I don't know why I didn't wanna do this with the elder two and why I feel it's ok now, but yeah now it happens and that's the truth.

Okay i’m confused I thought ppl don’t kiss babies on the lips, because of the whole slobber/drool factor and had nothing to do with anything worse than that

My 4 year old niece pecks me on the lips and I peck her back. Its not a big deal and doesnt get a second thought from us...we're too close. I might stop in the future but right now...she's just a baby.
The one year old gets kisses wherever I find space.
The nephew is too small for any kisses.

I sometimes kiss my daughter on her lips. I kiss her everyday on her cheek (when she's sleeping) before going to work and I kiss her on her cheek when I come back from work and she also kisses me back . What is so wrong with that ? she is my baby and I love her and this is one of the way I show my love to her.

lol, nahi.... I think its just that kissing on the lips is a big thing! kiss on the cheeks is no big deal...

^ exactly!!! I kiss my nephews and niece on the lips all the time.. we usually cover the full face though, they think it’s hillarious and annoying 
I stopped it with my oldest nephew at 6 because he really didn;t like being kissed at all.. he is 8 now,forget the lips, he doesnt even let you kiss on his forehead.. kids these days

I don't care where parents kiss their child but I hope they tell their kids that you musn't pout after strangers. I know this 4/5 yera old girl who would always pout out to everyone and insist that they kiss her on the lips (she doesn't consider kiss on the cheaks as a 'real' kiss!), that child so stubborn about this that I kinda dislike that little girl. I mean she would randomly come to you and say kiss me on the lips. So embarrassing she is.

I don't see what the big deal is. I have always kissed my kids on the lips. My toddler is 2 now, she always cups my face in her hands and plants a smacker. My 12 year old girl, no way, my 11 year old girl, yes, my 9 year old son, no. He's always expects one but I have put my foot down and said no because mummys don't kiss their boys there anymore, you are a young lad.
