Khuda Ke Liye

People are very keen on opening threads on this issue in Shor Sharaaba, but my intent is different.

One poster mentioned how they were accosted by people from a mosque asking him to not see the movie, because Shohaib Mansoor has insulted God and Islam.

If mods can put a poll in here, I’d appreciate it.

What are your thoughts. Should a true God fearing (and loving) muslim not watch such a movie, and why?

Re: Khuda Ke Liye

what is in the movie? i havt not seen it nor it is available in this part of the world

Re: Khuda Ke Liye

PCJ, lets wait for sometime. Once people have seen the movie, then perhaps they will be in a position to form an opinion about it.

I have not read anything negative in the reviews but the Late Maulana Ghazi said the movie is blasphemous (sp) and so must pass through "our censor board" before it is displayed in the cinema houses.

Re: Khuda Ke Liye

most of the people here live outside pakistan they most probably cant watch this movies for a while. So there would be just speculation and view based on second hand knowledge and fatwas based on romours.

If some moulana sahab had the pleasure (torture) of watching the last block buster in pakistan 'Majajan' they would also had declared it blasphemous (which it is certainly) and insulting to islam. But no moulvi sahab has ever spoken about it.

Re: Khuda Ke Liye

It is a movie. Mullahs are against all movies and music. Regardless of the movie's subject they will want to ban it.

Re: Khuda Ke Liye

His chapter is over; he got what he deserved. Lets talk about maulana fazulluah when we'll add "late" before his name is yet to be seen.

Re: Khuda Ke Liye

Hmmm, you mean the 28 yrs old radical cleric who asked ppl yo boycott the vaccination drive...Anyways, that can be a topic of another discussion Imran.

Re: Khuda Ke Liye

PCG, as if what any religious person has to say will affect you...

Still, as a Muslim, I cannot stand it when someone maligns Islam out of sheer ignorance...

And surely, nowadays Islam is mostly portrayed and depicted in the media by those who don't follow Islam in the first place...

Re: Khuda Ke Liye

Have you seen the movie or are the above comments based on some jahil mullah theology?

Re: Khuda Ke Liye

So I got the following urdu article in a forward email. It’s propoganda against the movie saying how anti-Islam it is. How about letting people watch it for themselves and letting them decide. These people believing in herding people like donkeys with a danda and following Islam as they see it right. Meanwhile we can continue to have lollywood churn out garbage as it does, with all the mujras and vulgarity. I don’t see any mass-movements against such garbage.

Re: Khuda Ke Liye

Thanks, Sehar for helping raise awareness on the topic. Your link is not working, though.

Re: Khuda Ke Liye

I've fixed it PCG, it should work now :-)

Re: Khuda Ke Liye

I have not seen this movie, but I do have some feedback about freedom of speech.

The true intent of Islam is becoming idolfree... and idols are not necessarily deities set up beside the One True Creator of this Universe; they also exist in the form of preconcieved notions about God and his intent of putting us on this planet.

From what I understand Islam (peaceful submission) to be, one of the things in this quest is to let go of the idea that God needs our protection and defence. If anything, we want to protect a certain way of life: A set of notions and wants with regards to how we want to live.

That said, such notions and wants constitute our opinion, and those, from what I understand, are of personal nature (i.e they cannot be imposed). No wonder "There is NO COMPULSION in the DEEN/Way-of-Life".

So if someone does not want to believe in God, or has a bone to pick with God, then it's between that person and HIS God (rather, with his idol; nothing but his pre-conceived notion). It is that person's OPINION, and NO ONE has a right (or ability) to take that away from him. Everyone is accountable for his/her own actions...

Imposition of hardlined opinions that are grossly inadequate for a certain demographic, be they from a person, a minority, majority or even the state, is wrong from what I understand. So as long as both, this gentleman, and the mullahs, try to present a case as to why they are saying what they're saying, I have no problem with either opinion.

I even look forward to seeing this movie since NOW I AM CURIOUS (thankyou dear MULLAHs for helping this gentleman's cause).

Re: Khuda Ke Liye

I wanted to add that I just went to the movie site and reviewed the storyline! I do not see anything negative there! Being a former music artist (yes I've been one and I do not see any conflict with music and the Quranic message,) I must say that I loved the soundtracked prologue to the site!!

Re: Khuda Ke Liye

hypnotix what is the movie site?

Re: Khuda Ke Liye

http://www.inthenameofgod.com

FYI, it is most likely against extremism, hence the “outcry” from our “more muslim” brothers.
