KC Lahore imposes ban on jeans after alleged threats

Its not about burqa or no burqa. Do not make things complicated. All thats required from both men and women is to be modestly dressed up.

The Principal of KC said that its not coz of any threat or something but they banned jeans theirselves long time back. The ones who have not seen those KC or NCA or LUMS gals in jeans, should first see them. They do not look like students at first place. You will be shocked if you see what kind of fashion is in in Lahore now days. Its those Capri i.e. 3/4 trousers with sleeveless shirts. You will see gals in this attire in markets, airports, colleges every where. Thats really a shame. Do it at home if you are so eager to try out every fashion.

As far as Talibaanization or extremists are concerned, they are not authorized ppl to implement any kind of laws in country. They should not use weapon and force on ppl to follow islam. The responsiblity comes on States first and then on each individual and not on a group of ppl. This all mess is created by Musharaf. Who has divided the nation in two groups, Liberals and Extremist. poor the Moderators are suffering.

How they don’t look like a student? Ever see students in Malaysia, Turkey, UAE, Iran, Lebanon …and else.. else..

What’s the problem with wearing 3/4 trousers or sleeveless shirts? .. :hmmm:

I can just wish.. i take you back to 1960’s.. and show you what kind a fashion happens in Lahore …in those days..

My oh my… :smack: Mr. Kooz, where have you or your sisters studied from? Pakistan? I guess not. Coz if you had then you would know that in all gals colleges uptill Graduation there is Uniform for students, do you even know that ? And all gals colleges keep a strict discipline about dressing. There is no compulsion of covering your head inside college premisis BUT YOU MUST NEED TO BE PROPERLY AND MODESTLY DRESSED UP. and IT IS NOT FROM TODAY BUT HAVE BEEN ALWAYS LIKE THIS. The teachers charge the gals with Fines, if they come in any dress other than the college uniform.

For God sake do not make mess out of things. Its just that media and other ppl like you wants to add fuel to fire… to spice up things you ppl ll say anything without going thru a lil of thinking procedure. If Pakistan was not under so many threats today and the difficult situation it is facing due to fake talibaans, then I am sure this news would have not carried any importance and taken as a routine annoucement for students. Coz as i said its NORMAL for gals colleges.

And talking about Ganjaas… the ppl with no hair on head are better then ppl who have nothing inside their head.

you know Wine i dont see the need to answer your STUPID questions. Coz it would be a waste of my time.

Re: KC Lahore imposes ban on jeans after alleged threats

thank god i dont live in Pakistan

this country is so messed

Re: KC Lahore imposes ban on jeans after alleged threats

^ The ppl are Jahil mercenary... educated but yet Jahil . God knows when they will actually start THINKING.

oops sorry, .. unknowingly i did waste mine.. but oh well..

I have studied in UET in the 90s, & Ive been to KC many times for official functions. I am NOT someone from the outside commenting on things without first hand knowledge. A uniform is something totally unrelated to this discussion. A uniform is an tool to strip members of a group or an institution of distinguishing and fragmenting characteristics. If they had initiated a uniform policy for everyone, that might have been ok. Even GC, FC, dont have uniforms for students in undergrad school or grad school, even in FSC. Its the moral policing that worries me, and the rumors of threats that prompted this change, and the wishy washy language reported, and hints of government notification.

If that was the case, there would not have been an uproar in the 90s over the TV dupata policy.

ok, I didnt say that ganjas have no brain, you said it. I like the ganjas,(I even specially went to Pakistan to vote for them) but they have a tendency to think Pakistan is an Arab country. If you lived in an actual Arab country(not UAE) where women are not allowed to drive cars, or hold most jobs, you would share my concern of any sort of moral policing that may push us down a slope where the country may find it hard to climb up from: Especially in the current situation amid threats faced by Pak today.

when we will go back to our roots.. what was us.. and what we become.. the golden days of 50s .. 60s... when alcohol was allowed.. music/movies/culture was promoting.. ...when women can go to college/school without any threats...

when ...we were happy ... but then blood sucking.. religious parties came into politics.. and politicsize all the issues... and then..russia came in .. then secertrain violence... and now. .taliban ...

God knows... when our misery will end..

Yes back when Pakistan had not been the victim of ideological hijacking.

Inspite of your annoying insistence that everyone ignore the mistakes of the Pakistan army over the years, thank you for that post <<>>

I myself am a Formanite, and had always a close link with GC- the Ravians for various reasons. There was a uniform there in both colleges for all students till Graduation. But you are forgetting something FC and GC are basically BOYS colleges. Only at post graduation level the system is co. (boys n gals). So you can not quote them as an example here. I am talking about Gals colleges like LC, QMC, KC etc. May be after privitazation of these colleges, the uniform compulsion may have been removed ( i doubt tho) but I doubt that these very old and famous education institutes will compromise on their principles and those rules which are the base for their existance and their fame. A school or college or uni are supposed to be educational places where you come to learn something, to become a good person, a good citizen and good parents at the end. The student should look more like a TAALIB E ILAM then a TAALIB E FASHION.

You need to use Danda sometimes if your herd is going on wrong direction. Rules and Policies are meant for betterment.

You need to read that line again, I called someone else without brain. I did not see that tendency in them. They did not stop ladies from driving, they didnot introduce any descriminating policies for women n men. They are still far far better then this PPP, PML (Q) and MQM losers.

So you feel that students of the Pakistan institute of fashion design can dress however they like then ?

Oh please tell me you dont have a picture of GEN Zia in your living room

top unis in the world have no uniform.

What is your definition of Talib-e-Ialm .. a burkha-clad or a guy wearing shalwar-kamzeed with Khussa & jinnah cap on head?

Question: Why all the best colleges/universities existed only in western world? and they are producing best minds .. nooo? .. your uniform logic dosn't make any sense !

FYI: i didn't know any good university which has uniform.. their is none, Madam.

For not wearing Jeans? We are not talking about Lal Mosque here, and people of Pakistan will not allow this kind a mentality.

I am sorry but your first question doesnt make any sense at all.

No i dont have his pic in my room. I do not keep any political person's pics in my room. Not even my fav leader's, Gen. Ayoub Khan.

Thanks for the info but I didnot say that ONLY uniform gives you a TAALIB E ILAM look. A gal in mini skirt going to school wont look like a school going gal. Its not even allowed in offices.

Are you a production of some western uni? I am not impressed by your best mind.

Sir Uniform comes under discipline. If you do not have uniform , you should dressed up modestly. Now dont come back asking me whats the definition of modestly dressed up.

Jeans is not the issue. All what i am saying is that this news is just a general announcement for gals , it is not something new in gals colleges in Pak. but ppl has made an issue out of that. Coz everyone is skeptical now days.

Re: KC Lahore imposes ban on jeans after alleged threats

^ Thats my last post on this thread. I am tired already. but i have concluded one thing., first it was only West who would blame Islam and Muslims over all, for every minor or major terrorism act that would happen any where in the world. and now i see our own ppl doing that. Seems to me like the enemy has achieved its target.

It was a zionist comspiracy ... I tell you.

why not? its cultural isnt it, I saw plenty of girls in miniskirts at my uni and some that I know ar doing well in their careers now.

when it is muslim groups (whether or not what they are doing or saying aligns at all with Islam is a whole diff issue) who else can you blame. IRA or basque separatists or Tamil Tigers really dont care too much to threaten girls colleges in Pakistan
