Re: KC Lahore imposes ban on jeans after alleged threats
^ What's wrong with that? If you have no problem girls wearing bikini then you shouldn't have problem with some wearing burqa. It's a personal choice. Or is it your civilized way to call people names who don't dress/act accoding to your likings?

na .. i am having no problem with that,.. it was you in previous post asking about in which college chicks wear burkha !
Re: KC Lahore imposes ban on jeans after alleged threats
^ Where did I say that?
Whether you wear a burqa or bikini , it's your personal choice. I have no problem with either of them. You're the one who seems to have problem with girls wearing hijab.
After reading some of the replies here, I am just curious to know what is the definition of 'modern' for most of you
......are girls showing ankles for instance more modern than girls showing toes ==> girls showing nothing!!!
c'mon people don't be so daft. This is a non-issue
I hate burqas esp. shuttlecocks from the core of my heart (these things are cultural and have nothing to do with religion) although I appreciate that your dress should be decent at all times
ofcourse there are decent and sensible limits that should never be crossed......I don't need to elaborate here, we all know what those limits are......a bit of commonsense is all that's required sometimes :)
But there is no evidence to suggest that girls who wear jeans are immoral or of loose character. It's not like they are soliciting fahaashi
By your definition most muslims girls studying in USA, Europe and even many Middle Eastern countries are immoral!!!
And if you really believe that to be true I w'd suggest a quick visit to your doctor for a brain scan etc.
I hope the PML-N government didnt send out this alleged "notification". The ganjas have a problem with women. In 1997-8 they were the ones who told all channels on TV to ask all women to cover their head.
"in line with a government notification..." Is this some new notification ? if so, it cant single out one school or college. So either, the KC has a closet Taliban Administration, or the rumors of threats are true.
Whats the point of fighting them in Buner and Dir if the vice principal in Lahore is going to change the rules in Lahore.
NIkhat KHAN SHame on you !!!!!! I say send her to Swat to lead the new Islamic university.

U r absolutely right. If this is because of taliban threat, then tomorrow a threat to close all women colleges/ universities may also come. Would KC be closed then? Will all the girls/ women of pakistan not get education because of taliban threat or fear?
Re: KC Lahore imposes ban on jeans after alleged threats
The most important bit no one is paying any attention to is that KC is in LAHORE, which is provincial capital of Punjab. IF there is a LEGIT threat present in HEART of PUNJAB then taliban are NOT localised cancer anymore, and they have made their way to Lahore now.
ADDENDUM: JEANS being ISLAMIC or not is irrelevant here, the more important issue is TALIBAN presence in LAhore in such significant quantity that it alarmed KC administration.
Not impressed at all with a few predictably pathetic replies here
Bhyy it is not what you wear but how you wear it that is important......and Islam does not forbid you from wearing anything as long as you dress decently.
There is nothing unislamic about wearing a loose jeans and a loose kurta on top. It's all in your dirty minds....
lol. sure but in Pakistan wearing jeans is a status symbol.
otherwise latest shalwar-kameez designs are even pathetic and i rather prefer wearing jeans then those capri-shalwar and thousand-slits-kameez.
^ Which reply are you referring to? :D
I can sympathize with the** 'phoonds' of lahore**... The bus stop across KC has been a traditional 'stand and stare' area for the guys for years!
i think they also need to attend some thukai-session. larkiyoon ko fashion say fursat nahi to larkoon ko hero bun-nay say.
Re: KC Lahore imposes ban on jeans after alleged threats
As if wearing jeans and aping the commercialized western culture which has objectified the female sex, would have propelled the poor, moderate, peace-loving masses of Pakistan and beyond, to the forefront of science, technology and economic progress...the parallel between this and post 1857 muslim aversion to english in the original post is as absurd as they get...
