Kashmir abandoned?

Re: Kashmir abandoned?

I believe you. you must have met them in USA. Do they represent sentiments of all Kashmiris in Kashmir? Even one pro-pmln or pro-JI group in this forum does not represent the whole of Pakistan. Getting the drift?

Re: Kashmir abandoned?

ok from an indian side

i have had many personal kashmiri friends(both genders) in my engineering(local guys from srinagar, not some non resident american/british or mirpuris)including few kashmiri sikhs,

at that time(2005-09) i was not much into kashmir. i had no idea what’s going on,most of them were more then happy to be indians there was never a discussion on struggle except for a guy who openly declared his love for pakistan(dude was a nice guy ).
having said that all this guys were from rich background, can’t say about common kashmiri

coming to common kashmiri(valley not entire j&k),couple of years back there was this riots i read an interview from this separatist leader it seems people were so dirt poor that they were ready to do stone pelting for sum of 200 rupees not for some holy love ,and this scum leaders like geelani take money from both pakistan and indian sides for themselves and thier children study in top schools in delhi.if itsn’t for this scum leaders india could have developed kashmir like rest of the states post 90 reforms.there would have been many companies which would have love to setup in kashmir

there is injustice done to kashmiri people like mistaken for terrorists ( mostly in 90s),finally our media started to show this things about unidentified graves with mistaken civilians along side terrorists. but some times from pakistani side few things have been over exaggerated like army giving teddy bear to little children planting bomb in it .what logic does it make unless putting some personal propaganda

anyway valley is been most peaceful since last 20 years, tourism has registered highest number since 89 riots i plan to visit soon, kashmir can also make use of it’s hydro electricity and export it to other states.
if this peace continues for next 2-3 years, there will be chance for IT companies setting up in kashmir, already there are some bpos in srinagar, they need more engineering colleges like IIT.only education and job opportunities can lead them out of their misery,i think once people get educated then they can have their voice globally if they don’t want to be with india

Kashmir most peaceful this year in last 20 years

finally coming to map,as a indian i have been cheated showing pakistan held kashmir in indian map,now i come to know they are not part of india.
Thread opener should consider jammu and kashmir is divided into 3 regions

valley
ladakh
jammu

ladakh and jammu consists of 70 percent of jammu and kashmir land and majority of the people here are hindu(jammu) buddhists(ladakh) and few shia muslims population in kargil district of ladakh
people from ladakh wanted to separate from kashmir and form direct union terrioty under central government of india ,as they feel total funds are going to valley and jammu, ladakh occupies major bulk(land) of jammu and kashmir, this people had separate history from valley, they belong to kingdom of ladakh more close to indo-tibetan people but most of the time isolated from rest of the world, unlike in valley there are no riots here mostly peaceful people ,they have some of the most breathtaking locations here, problem is population is low compare to high density population of valley so lack of vote bank,i don’t want to talk about jammu it’s more of a hindu majority similar to punjab and himachal region.so you can’t expect this regions to be part of pakistan

Re: Kashmir abandoned?

And the source of this rant is? Al-Jazeera?

Pakistan wouldn't EVER bring it a vote, because then we won't even have the part that we have. You are quite simply deluded.
Besides from kashmir there are many independence struggles going on in india so why would any one want to join them?
Stop listening to that Lal Topi wla marasi Zaid Hamid, nuff said.

Re: Kashmir abandoned?

I have. And already told you what they think of Pakistan.

Re: Kashmir abandoned?

no, now nuff said!

Re: Kashmir abandoned?

Well you should try to knock some sense to those ungrateful unpatriotic douches. I am a patriot and i consider pessimist unpatriotic people as harmful as those suicide bombers.

Re: Kashmir abandoned?

Do you expect Americans to be Pakistani patriots? Then why Kashmiris?

Re: Kashmir abandoned?

Ohhhhh!!! One flag raised by some idiot means Assam wants to be part of Pakistan!

Re: Kashmir abandoned?

Self delete

Re: Kashmir abandoned?

Exactly, By the same logic your best friend's friend who you met in Rawalkot and TLK's "many kashmiri friends" (if they are not imaginary) are just as stupid as this idiot raising Pakistani flag in india. I know a south indian muslim who loves pakistan more than india and support pakistan even if there is a cricket match between pakistan and india, it doesnt mean all indian muslims love pakistan.

What your best friend's friend told you in Rawalkot was not an eye-opener; it maybe just a lone unpatriotic douche and now you are running around on the internet screaming.. oh noes!!! kashmiris want to join the slum land we are doomed.. oh noes!!

Re: Kashmir abandoned?

I was familiar with my friends views in Lahore, it's the other people I met that I'm taking about. Anyways, keep your eyes shut like a pigeon. Try repeating " Kashmir wants to be a part of Pakistan" "Kashmir wants to be a part of Pakistan" "Kashmir wants to be a part of Pakistan!" MAybe if you say it enough times, it will become part of reality.

h noes!!! kashmiris want to join the slum land we are doomed..

Sounds real funny coming from a Pakistani...

Re: Kashmir abandoned?

let the kashmiris handle their struggle for freedom themselves if they really want to.

As for Pakistan or India, I doubt either of the country's administration *really *feels for the Kashmiris' plight. For them Kashmir is more of a strategic importance of who triumphs over who. The river headworks etc and a lot of other reasons.

I would say let the Kashmiris be given the right to choose what do *they *want and be done with it.

Re: Kashmir abandoned?

Do those people represent entire population of azad and occupied kashmir?

though not as funny as you claiming that all kashmiris want to join india

Re: Kashmir abandoned?

Okay to make things clear I am a Kashmiri. Obviously it's easier to say things from this side of the border, but I consider myself a patriotic Pakistani. The place where I live is full of Pakistan-loving Kashmiris. So it would be going a little far to say that there is absolutely no support for Pakistan left in Kashmir.

Re: Kashmir abandoned?

let me point out there is no azad or occupied Kashmir even though may people refer to it that way. Not azad because that territory is totally dependent on and controlled by Pakistan government. And not occupied because that part of the territory has always been part of India.

Finally only Kashmiris of what you call azad Kashmir and what other refer to as POK can 'want to join India' - the rest of them are already part of India, so where is the question of 'wanting to join'? It will be like saying people of Karachi 'want to join Pakistan'

Re: Kashmir abandoned?

nope, kashmir is a disputed territory according to UN. its not part of india and it never will be. indians have stationed million of troops in occupied kashmir to oppress the freedom struggle.

Re: Kashmir abandoned?

2 that I met (independently) were both pretty decent Muslims (practicing, praying 5 times, but no beard), both educated. One moved from Kashmir with in 2-3 years (I met him about 10 yrs ago), another has been here for few years and he is a good family friend (coming to our house tomorrow for eid potluck). Both shared the same burst of mindset when they said that they are kashmirs and someone asked Pakistani side or Indian side :D. Wallah wu alam bro. I never been to kashmir but I dont trust media 100% but i do trust real people sharing real feelings.

Re: Kashmir abandoned?

It already is - that is why we are able to visit that state without passport and the residents of that state are able to visit rest of the country. Just read what others have said in this very thread.

Re: Kashmir abandoned?

that doesn't matter, they dont want to be called indian, its degrading living under the guns of indian troops.

Re: Kashmir abandoned?

If Kashmiris hasd a choice they would pick 'independence'.

Kashmiri's are quite secular in their outlook and dislike this growing extremism in Pakistan.
So the attractiveness of joining Pakistan is decreasing each day.
In time Kashmiris may start saying lets stay within the Devil (india) we know than the devil(Pakistan) we don't.
