He claims police abducted him, tortured, abused and kept him in detention for 9 hours. During this time they abused Najam Sethi, but didnt tell him what they really wanted?

Najam Sethi talked about this in detail during his Friday show, and he was pretty ticked off. He mentioned MQM by name many times, saying that they have to stop these tactics, as we are not going to bow down etc. There was no mention of any specific incident, but apparently, this reporter had been reporting things as ‘he saw them’, rather than how MQM wanted to show them.
According to him, they abducted CHishti, and told him to leave Karachi or else. After releasing him, they even visited the TFT offices the next day to make sure he was not there!

What had he said about MQM that they did this (assuming Najam $hitty is right)?
If you see Chishti’s past, he’s been pretty much in MQM’s pocket all the time. acts as their unpaid spokes person

According to Ali chishti, he was abducted by police. It could be MQMs tactics to malign the law enforcement agencies before the operations begin but I don't think we can be certain at this stage.

Thats what Najam sethi said as well. But he also implied that the police was influenced by political parties a lot, and that they were doing MQM's bidding. In other words, police and MQM are in cahoots. Even went on to say that he will avoid going to Karachi for now, as he might be putting his life at risk by doing so.

As far as him having any proof is concerned, its NS's headache. But it would be foolish of him to make such a statement on such a delicate issue without having some proof. Not all proofs are tangible.

I can understand that with the new found love affair between Nawaz and Altaf, you have to follow party policy, but dont forget...just a couple of years ago, NS stated that MQM is the party that gave birth to terrorism in Karachi. And while MQM has quite a few partners in crime now in Karachi, they still rule the roost when it comes to terrorism, and thats circumstantial evidence in my book.

what's going on? i thought the operation will start in 2 days and that was last week. instead, target killings have increased in the last two days...it's just like business as usual...yesterday 8 people were killed, today 13 so far...
