Anyone here know about possibility of any job opportunities in Dubai. I know the country has a booming economy but I wanted ask anyone who have specific knowledge of the financial industry in the country. What is an average salary like for a college graduate? Is the cost of living high compared to USA? I am an accounting major, and wanted to see if there is a demand for accountants in Dubai.

Even I wanted to explore the same.I am banker,in to collections .Thought of moving to Dubai.
Cost of living is def high! But there's so much going-on and so many new companies opening-up that there's a great need. Financial companies such as Mubadala are hiring extensively..

Lots of investment banks are expanding their regional presence in the Middle East particularly Dubai and hiring siginficantly although at a more experienced level.

CFA, Accountants, Bankers, Financial Consultants can easily find jobs in the UAE. The first step shud be contacting several recruitment agencies..

YES, they have great jobs here, lots of money, but the country is the size of a dime. You drive 2.5 hours and you are in a neighboring country!

Yeah my next question was also about how to go about finding a job if you live overseas. Majority of the accounting and finance jobs in the USA require networking, but looking for a job overseas is very tricky. Those who live in Dubai, do you recommend a person moving to Dubai first and then start job hunting?
Inspite of all the traffic I love Dubai! There are so many opportunities to explore.. this place is so diverse! You have the best of both the East and West. You shud browse recruitment sites www.gulfjobseekers.com, www.bayt.com, www.theemiratesnetwork, www.gulfjobsites.com, are some you may look at.

Like Gina said it is easy and US degree is appreciated. You can look at the sites Gina posted those are good ones.
As for whether first you should move to Dubai and then go job hunting i dont think that is such a good idea as living in Dubai without a job might burn holes in your pockets. First submit your CVs or even if you have someone living in Dubai tell them to submit your CV for you. Give the numbers of the place you are living presently in and also emails. Let them contact you.

YES best of both worlds... You have SOOO MANY MALLS TO GO TO. and if you are bored, you can go to ANOTHER MALL! and then by the time you shop that one, there is ANOTHER ONE.
