But faith in religion does not always mean you take everything at face value, and accept as word of god stuff that was decided years, decades centuries afterwards..whether it was the whole hadeeth compilations for muslims or the decisions made by pope this or that and different councils.
I would assume that there would be a different view between orthodox christians versus catholics on this topic.

I think alot of religious people (muslims and christians included) will disagree with you on that. to alot of people questioning their faith is unthinkable. Just look at what happens when one person tries to challenge a particular hadees. they are told they are twisting the faith to suit their needs, they are picking and choosing.
There are alot of open-minded christians/muslims ofcourse that might be willing to pay attention to the evidence put forth but i am a bit dubious that the hot-shots (scholars, religious leaders) will accept. and a large number of people will listen to the church over scientific proof anyday.
but as someone already stated i think it will become a point of frequent attack for the christians when people have religious arguments.

you and I are not saying anything different, there are a lot of people who would disagree, and there area lot that will pay attention to the evidence.
as far as hadees goes, the largest picking and choosing was done by the compilers who never claimed that their work was divine or error proof.
but thats a whole diff discussion.

Through the process of parthenogenesis, the female creates an embryo without male fertilization. Some lizards do this, so yes what I'm saying is that mary was likely a lizard (no disrespect).

what I mean is that if immaculate conception did take place, and I am not doubting that it did, and the DNA assessment was done what would be found. Are you saying in this situation that the DNA would be identical from a mother and father side.
