It will be a big impact on christianity as system, as they believe he was physically taken up. But in real life it might not have much impact on the lives of christians because vetican will disregard all the proves, if any will be given by archeologists.
I was waiting for someone to mention those Characters, you see my theory is that the Greeks and Romans believed that Zues the big God came to Earth and took a mortal wife who gave him Appollo the son of God Zues. And since the whole of Grecko Roman culture believed all the Pagan Mythology and their human sacrifices of Virgins for averting disastors, the story of Easa Elahi Salaam being the True Son Nausobillah of the The One true God was palatable to the whole population of Rome, especially when the Emperor decided it shall be so.
But faith in religion does not always mean you take everything at face value, and accept as word of god stuff that was decided years, decades centuries afterwards..whether it was the whole hadeeth compilations for muslims or the decisions made by pope this or that and different councils.
I would assume that there would be a different view between orthodox christians versus catholics on this topic.

I think alot of religious people (muslims and christians included) will disagree with you on that. to alot of people questioning their faith is unthinkable. Just look at what happens when one person tries to challenge a particular hadees. they are told they are twisting the faith to suit their needs, they are picking and choosing.
There are alot of open-minded christians/muslims ofcourse that might be willing to pay attention to the evidence put forth but i am a bit dubious that the hot-shots (scholars, religious leaders) will accept. and a large number of people will listen to the church over scientific proof anyday.
but as someone already stated i think it will become a point of frequent attack for the christians when people have religious arguments.
there is a theory that jesus's father was joseph who was mary's fiancee and mary had to come up with a story to save her life because punishment for getting pregnant before marriage during that time was death
nope, we are not questioning Allah's wisdom, its just questions that we are discussing in a respectable manner. No one knows the answer to this right...
Through the process of parthenogenesis, the female creates an embryo without male fertilization. Some lizards do this, so yes what I'm saying is that mary was likely a lizard (no disrespect).
Remember that 80's show V about the lizards who disguised themselves as humans to take over the earth? You'll find all your answers there.
errrr this is not what I was expecting dude.
what I mean is that if immaculate conception did take place, and I am not doubting that it did, and the DNA assessment was done what would be found. Are you saying in this situation that the DNA would be identical from a mother and father side.
