If all above claims are true then there are implications on scriptures in the sense that truth has been concealed from us, the mortals.

well, religiously theres little implication on Islam or Christianity. In Islam we believe that someone did get crucified, but it wasnt Jesus. Perhaps more complicated for Christianity (bones of God?) but something they can probably explain away, but will become a frequent attack point

right, but if someone did get crucified and his dna matches that of mary, then that means that God created a full clone to be crucified? right? not just a look alike, but a replica.

Only implication would be that the aqedah of Jesus return will no more hold and as this will be in future no present major change in islamic thinking-
PS: Any one who may think that this will give way for thier MAN to be held in some higher esteem has yet to prove this MAN worth that status-

it all goes to what they percieve from available avidence. It could be just a symbolic tomb. or tomb of any of his disciples; unless all of them are already accounted for. From what I believe, I would say it could be just a symbolic tomb.

o yaar I am not too knowledgeable about the ahmedi/qadyani beliefs so thats why I missed it.
And its okay we are talking about stuff in a ‘what if’ scenario. so whether you believe ahmedis to be another sect in islam or a diff faith, the question remains there as well, what is the implication on faith if this story is true

well the the scholars of the religions would have to explain it somehow then, whether or not atheists or agnostics score a home run.

dunno yet, they are keeping the details kinda close to the chest. they say they ahve done all kinds of testing over a number of years, but experts in teh field are already giving them thumbs down.

**Tomb was dated to be 2000 yrs old 27 years back when it was discovered. the writings are just now being deciphered...:) **

Jesus ascended into heaven and once he got their realized he didnt need the physical body so he dump it off into tomb? Who knows? Excuse me though, I have to go feed my unicorn.
