Javed Hashmi made president of PTI

Re: Javed Hashmi made president of PTI

LOL... if political parties appointed officials based on loyalty, Pasha sab here would have been PPP president by now.

Re: Javed Hashmi made president of PTI

if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck.......

I can't say that I disagree with what it looks like.....in fact, I can't say that it isn't a "political move" but if that is what is going to take to get in then so be it.

The true test of how the party will execute can only be once they have some level of power and authority. Only then will we be able to see if PTI truly is going to be our saving grace.

Re: Javed Hashmi made president of PTI

Well said. :) If PTI doesn't deliver, then it would/should die a quick death. The only reason a lot of people are quiet, and not on the roads, is because they have one eye on the next election. It's a dam that's just holding for now. If it breaks, it'll turn out to be a damn. Damn chaos, that is.

While we are typing here on the forums, millions are out of jobs because of industries closing due to power shortages. They won't hold for too long when they can't even feed their families. It'll be organized chaos. I hope not, but the signs are there - on small scales, all over the country. All it takes is just one little flame to bring down the cottage.

Re: Javed Hashmi made president of PTI

JH is a respected politician and has earned respect from political friends and foes for his principled stances. His post in PTI is well deserved and this is what he should have earned in Noon League as well. But famiy dynasties die hard.

This is a bold decision and will be of huge significance in coming days. Even people who complain about PTI founder members not gaining enough visibility in the party will see. But its not like they have been outcasted altogether. They still hold important positions in the CEC.

Re: Javed Hashmi made president of PTI

I think that in respect to above arguments, its ok for Bilawal to be the new chair of PPP. We will wait for how he is going to run PPP before criticizing him :D

Re: Javed Hashmi made president of PTI

It is amazing how PTI supporters are sounding like the same jiyala’s they criticise.

PTI nirales have taken blind worship to a whole new level :cb:

Re: Javed Hashmi made president of PTI

I would like nothing better than to see Bilawal as the new chair for PPP. But a true chair and not a puppet.
Perhaps he might bring a change to their policies as well.

To stay on the topic though.....how would you recommend the success or failure of a political appointment be measured without the party being in power?

Re: Javed Hashmi made president of PTI

I am sorry but you take Jialla little low .
They are the great supporters of a party and their history is full of sacrifices and struggle .Thousands lives no doubt , Thousands passed long time in jails , Forced exile in result of PIA hijacking conspiracy ,monetary losses ,tortures every thing and they are followers of leaders who sacrised their own lives .
Don’t compare them with Nirrallas
Jo garmi main kharab ho jatay hain

Re: Javed Hashmi made president of PTI

That is a great move but one slight problem, Hashmi isnt in the best condition to lead a party. He had a serious brain injury after he spent those years in jail on those cooked charges Musharraf brought up against him. He is an honest politician and I respect him deeply but he is in no condition to lead the party.

Re: Javed Hashmi made president of PTI

For the majority of our Politicians ...... Qualification and Position don't have to intersect with each other ;)

Re: Javed Hashmi made president of PTI

Comparing Bilawal to Javed Hashmi is such an insult to Javed.

Beyond that, Imran has been clear in his statements, and doesnt beat around the bush while saying that internal party elections will be held, and all party posts, including that of the chairman, which Imran currently holds, and rightfully deserves, will be up for grabs.

Prior to those elections, a management structure has to be in place, as elections cannot be held without any structure and control. Its common logic. You cannot have a bunch of people come together, call themselves PTI, and hold elections. There have to be controllers and regulators. Thats where the current chairman, president, sec general etc come in.

It is a novel concept in Pakistani politics (democracy), which is why people are having a hard time understanding and believing it. But time will tell.

Re: Javed Hashmi made president of PTI

I am not a blind supporter and the moment PTI or IK indulges in the corrupt practices PPP government prides itself in, I will stop supporting them. And you can go and explore my posts that I always respected JH

Re: Javed Hashmi made president of PTI

The appointment has more of a symbolic importance than the operational one.

Re: Javed Hashmi made president of PTI

before ppl were saying that ppls comming in pti from other parties will eventually hijack the party.....now by making a lota president of his Imran khan has taken a big step...

Re: Javed Hashmi made president of PTI

This will neither help IK nor his PTI. Who is going to control third class nirale lotay in this party?

Re: Javed Hashmi made president of PTI

Elections. :hypo: He said everything is up for grabs, and the membership drive they are doing will select all the positions. And besides, these are just the party positions, it’s not like this is his cabinet. No time to get our knickers in a twist. Just yet.

In fact, I want those politicians who have sinister agendas and ulterior motives out of the party at the next stop. You do have to remember this is an ideological party, not just a random gathering of politicians. :dannyboy: If someone doesn’t fit the agenda, there’s the door. And what better way to show the door to someone than via party elections. On all levels. For all posts.

Re: Javed Hashmi made president of PTI

^ exactly.

all chapters of the party have been or are scheduled to go through elections......if you want to ensure that the change heads in the right direction then join and have your say.

Re: Javed Hashmi made president of PTI

It looks nice here but fact is altogether different. IK even can not control his people how a person with mental disability be any good to IK or his party? See the following three videos

Re: Javed Hashmi made president of PTI

Very true. If the people say so, then so be it. When has the general PPP or PML-N (or any other party) voter got a chance to elect people on each and every position. And that too, at this scale. And besides, this may result in people leaving PTI because they may not see themselves getting what they came for.

To them I say, good riddance to bad garbage. :snooty: It’s better you left at the first stop, instead of after reaching the destination.

Thanks for acknowledging. :k: How much it works in the practical sense, well that remains to be seen. But you have to give credit if they are going for the public and party members opinion. This is a new thing in Pakistan. And frankly, if I were Imran Khan, I’d have have public debates within the party (for the bigger positions, at least) and uploaded them to the web. Sure, only the people in cities and those with Internet access would have seen them, but that’s a start.

As for the video, I’ve already seen them (all of them, in fact) and I do have my suspicions, but it is too soon to tell. This hooliganism seems to have been planted from other parties (PML-N most probably). It wasn’t there a few months back, and wasn’t there for years and years. This damaging trend just started recently. But like I said, there is no proof, probably never will be. So what can you do?! :bummer: Issue orders for policemen and snipers to shoot the hooligans in the leg. Drastic measure, but such is our country/nation - jab tak danda na aiy, seedhay nahee hotay.

I am sure you and I, most everyone here wants the best for the country. Maybe even a lot of the PPP votes (or at least the sane ones). Like I said, I too would have supported the relatively left PPP as opposed to the other options we have. But so does PTI. And it’s only fair to see how they do it, provided they come in power with people’s votes. That’s the only sensible thing to do.

If they do come into power, or don’t, there is nothing you and I can do. That’s for the public to decide. But I’ve always maintained that if they do, and can’t/don’t deliver, squander and loot, leave corruption and crime unchecked, I’ll join you in condemning them. I’ll personally join you, sachaydino, that much I promise.

Re: Javed Hashmi made president of PTI

And you have the very same commitment from me!
