On April 20, 1994, giving details about the payments made by Yunus Habib to generals, politicians and political parties, Interior Minister, General Nasirullah Babar, told the National Assembly that the main beneficiary of his largesse was former army chief General Mirza Aslam Beg who received Rs. 140 million. Others who were named by the Interior Minister included: Jam Sadiq Ali (Rs. 70 million from Habib Bank and Rs. 150 million from Mahran Bank); MQM’s Altaf Hussein (Rs. 20 million); Yusuf Memon for Ejaz-ul-Haq and Javed Hashmi (Rs. 50 million); Nawaz Sharif (Rs. 6 million); Chief Minister of Sindh Muzaffar Hussain Shah through his secretary (Rs. 13 million); MQM Haqiqi (Rs. 5 million); former Sports Minister Ajmal Khan (Rs. 1.4 million); Jam Mashooq Ali (Rs. 3.5 million); Liaquat Jatoi (Rs. 1 million); Dost Mohammad Faizi (Rs. 1 million) and Jam Haider (Rs. 2 million).

Is there any shame in thier concious on receiving this illegal amount? This huge some of money should have gone to the benefit of the people rather than bandar baant.
Mush who took over from NS with the pledge that he would wipe out the corruption. What did he do in his nine years of rule? These all chors should have been jailed by now.

I think it is moral duty of CJ to book all these bustards for violating the country's laws and put them in jail. So, there is a case in supreme court of huge corruption pending. The criminals involved are openly admitting their roles played and even have given sworn affidavits to the court. Yet, the corrupt politicians and the generals are free and apparently have no fear of ever getting prosecuted! The aggreived party is in the government but not doing anything about it, the court is supposed to all suo moto and totally free now but doing nothing.
There must be some secret understanding reached on this issue, otherwise it does not make sense.

Just because it included name of angelic Altaf Hussain in the recipients list 
otherwise statement about Jinnahpur drama from same “Taliban” godfather was acceptable.
No, they came out on their own obviously. If they wanted to discredit MQM, they would have already done so by bringing up Naseerullah Babar or Hamid Gul type people who have made a career out of lying.

The reason the generals have no problem admitting their dirty deeds is that they think they are untouchables. From the book Pakistan: between mosque and militry, "In 1997, Beg's response to Pakistan Supreme Court, ... , showed the army's attitude toward it behind the scenes role in Pakistani politics after the death of General Zia ul Haq. Beg told the court that he "was not answerable to [the court] regarding his actions as the cheif of army staff" and that the sitting army cheif was "the only competent and proper person" to ask him what he did and why".

Different timeliness, but the same person who butchered mohajirs and he is the only one who has mentioned MQM having received funds for IJI. It could be possible, but the source itself is suspect.

Anyone who followed Mehran Bank scandal knew that Altaf Husain took millions, just like other dirty politicians.
It is a shame that some people will defend Altaf as if he is a Jesus Christ.

KARACHI: According to the sworn undertaking of ISI’s former chief Lieutenant General (rtd) Asad Durrani, which he took before Supreme Court (SC) on July 24, 1994, that he was instructed in September 1990 by the then Chief of Army Staff (COAS), the former General Mirza Aslam Baig for provision of Logistic Support to embezzle money donated for election preparations from some Karachi traders and use the same donation money for Islami Jamhuri Ittehad (IJI) party.
Asad Durrani was told that the instructions to misappropriate donation money were backed by the then government of Pakistan, according to his affidavit statement before SC.
Subsequently, in pursuit of the instructions he received, he was forced to open some fake bank accounts in Karachi, Quetta and Rawalpindi while one donator from Karachi, by the name Younis Habib, deposited as much as 140 million rupees and the money from all accounts were transferred to other places according to the need for extension of logistic support to IJI party while the remaining money was transferred to a special fund, his sworn statement added.
His statement further added, Rs10 million were given to Mir Afzal in NWFP province, Rs3.5 million to Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in Punjab, Rs5.6 million to Lieutenant General (rtd) Rafaqat for advertisement on media, Rs5 million to Jamat-e-Islami, Rs1 million to Begum Abida Hussain, Rs0.5 million to Altaf Hussain Qureshi and Mustafa Sadiq, Rs3.3 million to small groups, Rs5 million to Ghulam Mustafa Jatoi in Sindh, Rs5 million to Jam Sadiq, Rs2.5 million to Muhammad Khan Junejo, Rs2 million to Pir Pagara, Rs0.3 million to Molana Salahuddin, Rs5.4 million to small parties, Rs1.5 million to Humayun Muree, the son-in-law of Bugti, Rs4 million to Jamali, Rs1 million to Kakar, Rs0.7 million to Jam Yousuf, Rs0.5 million Bazinjo and Rs1 million were given to Nadir Mengal.
It is pertinent to mention that the value in rupees of 12 grams of gold was Rs3300 at the time when money was misappropriated while it stands at Rs29,000 today.

actually the actual affidavit has been reported on for sometime now..the MQM has given two different reports on it..one they received nothing and the other they were offered but refused.
categorically states that the MQM has never received any illegal
amounts on behalf of its founder and leader, Altaf Hussain. Listed
amongst the recipients of ISI funds was “Yusuf Haroon, Rs 5 million
[he confirms having received this for Altaf Hussain of the MQM]”
which Khalid does not refute. Yusuf, now in Karachi, has
reconfirmed that he handed over the money to Altaf Hussain at Nine-
zero.

here is Aslam Begs response to the allegations in 1994 where he lists what else was done with the money left over
"It is correct that the above amounts were donated by Mr Yunus
Habib between September and October 1990. He claimed to have
collected this amount from his community through his own efforts
and that under the directions from ‘President’s Planning Cell’ the
amount was being made available. That the donations were meant for
elections 1990 and for acquisition of election intelligence.
"Such donations had been received earlier also from donors within
the country and outside and were placed at the disposal of ISI for
the same purpose as stated above. Therefore, the receipt of this
amount as donation and its utilization by ISI were in keeping with
the prevailing practice. The amount so donated by Mr Yunus Habib
was deposited in the account of ISI in instalment’s during
September and October 1990, totalling Rs140 million. **Out of this
amount, ISI spent approximately Rs60 million for election purposes
and the remaining Rs80 million was placed in Special Funds of ISI. **
The details of expenditure on various heads and on individuals
supported by ISI with this money may be obtained from the DG-ISI
for necessary verification.
"The then president, Mr Ghulam Ishaq Khan, was in the know of such
a donation and utilization. Mr Nawaz Sharif, on taking over in
November 1990, was personally briefed by me on the amount donated
and its utilization by the ISI. I had also briefed late General
Asif Nawaz on his taking over as COAS about this matter.
This all corruption was done against one lady i.e. BENAZIR BHUTTO. So many corrupt and criminals made a front against the lady. In ko zara sharam nahin aaee, ik aorat ke khilaf mehaaz bananay par.
