Re: Islam promoting thought and false accusations: Att. Ummm
^ That does not change one thing that I posted. 80% do NOT believe in it, many of the 20% probably wouldn't if not for the culture (and some times law) of not following it. Yes, the # of converts gets a lot of attention here, but you are grossly overstating it.
Re: Islam promoting thought and false accusations: Att. Ummm
Explicitly informed by what/whom? A book they don't believe in or respect? If one doesn't have that belief then there is no "choice". And if one acquires that belief just avoid hellfire then is based on selfishness and not spirituality - which means nothing.
On the contrary, a belief cannot be acquired by iterating it. Faith comes from the heart.
Recognition of a higher calling or God does not come from solely from just visible proofs but from an inside feeling which only you could feel or relate to. Its embedded in human nature to feel. Athiests just choose to shut it out. They systematically tame themselves to not accept it.
Prophet Abraham did not follow any scriptures when he went out looking for God, he just felt it in his heart. God can be perceived by a person who has never seen a scripture in his life.
Re: Islam promoting thought and false accusations: Att. Ummm
That’s real slick. Islam vs. all other faiths, and it is still the 2nd largest religion.
Hmmm…
Roughly one out of every six people in the world is a Muslim. With a total of approximately 1.2 billion adherents, Islam the second largest religion. Out of the 234 nations of the world, Islam is the majority religion in 48, annd a significant minority in 26. Thus, Muslims play a major role in nearly one-third of the nations of the world. While the Middle East constitutes the heartland of Islam, the largest number of Muslims (more than 40% of the world total) are found in Bangladesh, India (a minority of 100 million), Indonesia, and Pakistan. According to a study by the American Jewish Committee, the Muslim population of the United States is 1.9 million to 2.8 million.
And the numbers continue to grow, shattering the myth about ‘Born into Islam, and bound by culture alone’…the fact is that the more people learn about it, the more adopt it as their faith.

I totally agree. I just don't feel that alot when I speak (or type) with many people.

I don't care how you spin it. If 1 out of 6 is Muslim, believes in the Quran and Muhammad and will go to heaven,** 5 out of 6** do not believe it and are doomed to hell.

I never said Muslims are only those who are born into it or bound by culture. Many, but not all by any stretch. The myth is that the growth of Islam is mainly due to a very high birth rate, not conversions. Conversions make up a VERY small # comparatively.
Re: Islam promoting thought and false accusations: Att. Ummm
And what do you bring to the conversation? besides the small talk and jabs here and there.
Or are you just serving as a sidekick for ummm?
Srry Sir, I don't post 52.30 post everyday like you do because your creator has provided me with a life to enjoy, not fuss around for a book.......AS for Umm, he does not need a side kick, he by himself is kicking your's, pyasa's and USresident's(the so-called scholars of GS) rear......so N'joy and let me N'joy what more you fanatics think abt your faith.
Re: Islam promoting thought and false accusations: Att. Ummm
I don't think it's called kicking someone's rear.. it's called sheer stupidity. People who just cannot accept the truth and constantly try to pick on others and their religion on gs everyday are quite desperate and lifeless. If one wants to learn about someone's faith, they can do so on different Islamic websites instead of coming here and trying to put down other peoples' beliefs. The motive is quite clear here- you do not wish to respect Islam and probably will never do. Who cares? It is the fastest growing religion in the world and noone gives a jack about petty minded people like you or anyone else wanting to insult Islam. Oh and as for these 'so called scholars', hats off their knowledge that sadly, you would not be able to gain, ever. You and a few others just do not have the capability to understand such meaningful talks. Teggy is right when he said you're pretty much his sidekick, quite a shame as this time you and umm spend here can be invested elsewhere. Like I said before, keep talking trash, keep putting down Islam and Muslims, it doesnt' really effect it's popularity nor it's going to get any of us to change our faith.
Re: Islam promoting thought and false accusations: Att. Ummm
Is it sensible for the non-believers to choose that fate when they are not compelled to do so and have been explicitly informed about where that choice leads to? Belief in Allah SWT doesn't cost you a dime but a lot of ego.
Re: Islam promoting thought and false accusations: Att. Ummm
When you can't answer or defend your ideology that is what I should expect?
It will be very relevant someday.
Surely you realize it is irrelevant for someone who believes this"fate" to be false, immoral and grossly unjust from a God, prophet and book they don't believe in. If it's not sensible in their minds to accept those beliefs then everything that comes with it, including their damnation to hell for eternity, is not true - so not relevant.

The same argument goes for us who believe contrary to them, so their reasoning is just as irrelevant then. After all, it will not be us who judges them.
