Re: Islam promoting thought and false accusations: Att. Ummm
Wonder how you came to conclude there are scholars here?
Well I called them Islamic scholars before and they never refuted it so I assumed they are one.......Now don't start another thread about who Islamic scholars are and refer 500 pages of Quran for it....I am sick of ppl refering Quran for every little thing and try to relate some totally out of context verses with everyday tasks......Give us a break already !!

Why don't u find your way out of Religion then? Knowing very well muslims seek all their guidance from Quran.
Thank you very much!!
PS: You probably still can't resist and will end up coming back here to post. Gotta love the irony.

Umm is nowhere to be seen.
I guess you're his/her replacement, eh?
Annnnyyways!
To prove that the Quran is the Word of Allah, you do not have to indulge into futile discussions or philosophical dialect. You have at your disposal a “living material evidence,” the Quran itself. Starting with the null hypothesis, i.e., assuming that the Quran is not the word of God, one should ask himself/herself: could a human being in the seventh century write such a book? Or does there exist—up till today—any book that is claimed to match the Quran?

^I saw a flying spaghetti monster yesterday
I hate to say it, but Umm has shut up everyone very well.
my friend, copying pasting same old stuff from trintarian believers' websites or lunatic Sina's website does not prove anything.

The belief that the Quran is great or miraculous is strictly an opinion based on faith. To the unbiased non believer, it is not the accomplished, mistake-free piece masterpiece Muslims believe it to be. Not knocking it or anything, but you have to realize others don't hold the same* opinion.*

Sir, I don't think so. What he has done is just post revisionist material from well-known anti-Islamic websites. He has run away from debating the context of everything he posted. In other words he's run out of words to back up his claims and is probably now googling for answers that would suit his objectives.
I replied pretty rationally to his posts and yet no answer from him. Now I realize that we are all busy including me. So I'll wait and see what answer he googles up. His claim to disprove the authenticity of Quran was by trying prove there are inconsistencies in it, which he could not prove. Just post it and run away from explaining it or any cross questioning.

Its because as they say a little knowledge is dangerous. Reading verses in isolation leads to this. Well you have read the Quran couple of times (as you claim). What inconsistencies did you run into? Not stuff that you are not willing to accept but inconsistencies is what I am asking for?
Re: Islam promoting thought and false accusations: Att. Ummm
The incosistencies I found where in the message, not the #'s of days to create this, the moon sets here, the shape of the earth - I wasn't looking for that.
My short critical review: I didn't find it exceptionally well written or in logical order, I was baffled at the different messages that went between tolerant and intolerant, too much empahsis on Arab culture and too much emphasis on worship.
That being said, I have an equally critical review of the Bible, especially the OT. That doesn't mean they weren't inspired by God or don't contain wonderful things. I just don't think it is the best written book in the history of the world or IMO the FINAL message.
Re: Islam promoting thought and false accusations: Att. Ummm
Quran had to use the language , context, concepts, terminology etc of the time to make sure that the message is conveyed to the people of that time and by future generation correctly and comprehensively in terms they understood . If Quran used scientifically correct language and concepts then it would be very puzzling for them. No ?

You mean want a one sided view of God. This is not inconsistency in the text of the Quran.

These are still not inconsistencies in the text. This means you do not want to subscribe to the creed of Islam. This is what I was stating, Ummm was trying to undermine the consistency of Quran by quoting isolated verses. What the message is, warrants a different discussion.
