Islam Is Unpopular, says Indian Actor: Saif Ali Khan

Re: Islam Is Unpopular, says Indian Actor: Saif Ali Khan

Why do they exist? And why ignore the role of media in spreading hate and bigotry towards Muslims?

Re: Islam Is Unpopular, says Indian Actor: Saif Ali Khan

Saif has a right to his opinions, but it’s not just “his” problem. Celebrities are trend setters. Why do you hear some celebs say that they won’t endorse fairness creams because of their negative impact on society? It’s because they are aware of the influence they have on people and that’s a huge responsibility. Look at how Saif said that the poor, unfortunate people should be asking God for help and not him. Well, how is he helping them? Where in that interview has he mentioned that apart from asking Allah, you have to put the effort to share your blessings with others? The answer is nowhere. He will say that God doesn’t listen, which is the easy way out, but he won’t encourage moral responsibility. What message does this send to people? To be hedonistic? On one hand he says that Islam is a religion of peace…and on the other hand he is hoping that a messiah like Jesus will remove the laws and prohibitions in Islam as we know them and tell the folks that this is the real version of Islam. If you find Islam to be a peaceful religion, why wish for it to be modernized or abolished? I see that as a contradiction. And who is the Jesus-like messiah with a fan-following that he’s waiting for? Dajjal himself? Lol. Muqawee, don’t just focus on his one statement that Islam is peaceful but misrepresented…read the article in its entirety…and the attitudes he is promoting.

Re: Islam Is Unpopular, says Indian Actor: Saif Ali Khan

Same question ‘why we kept mum, when our walls were filled with Kafir Kafir Shia Kafir back in 1980s’?

Why we celebrated when Qadiyanis were declared non-Muslims by our Constitution back in 1970?

Was this promoted by BBC, CNN?

Our problems will never solve till we see our four fingers pointing towards ourselves than the one finger pointing at others.

Re: Islam Is Unpopular, says Indian Actor: Saif Ali Khan

Yes Muslims are the problem to every single thing in this world. Kill them all and you’ll get rid of the problems. Isn’t this what exactly Illuminati followers believe!

Re: Islam Is Unpopular, says Indian Actor: Saif Ali Khan

I’ve gone through all the interview. My first post in this thread is edited… I just posted ‘says who?’ at first, but when I went through the entire interview, I edited it for what I agreed and which is linked with the title of thread. I’m not a big fan of him and neither I’ll look to a bollywood actor married to a Hindu girl for knowing correct position of my religion.

Re: Islam Is Unpopular, says Indian Actor: Saif Ali Khan

chalen ren de. We are reacting on this good for nothing actor’s silly statement.

Re: Islam Is Unpopular, says Indian Actor: Saif Ali Khan

that is a low blow.
I wanted a clear statement.
You said, “those group use islam to justified”
I said, “did islam made you bad”

Then you said some things, which were not related.
@queer dude, I have heard stuff, beyond your imagination, against ever thing I hold dear, right into my face.
So I …

Re: Islam Is Unpopular, says Indian Actor: Saif Ali Khan

I understand that you want me to agree with his statement which is about some extreme people making the religion look bad…which makes sense. But I just can’t bring myself to ignore everything else he said about religion in general and on top his very prude attitude. I’m trying to just look at the whole context of his statement. Is he making this statement because he sympathises with Muslims and Islam? Or is he saying this because it suits his agenda? Or is he saying this because he didn’t even think about the whole topic in depth and said what he usually hears on news?

Re: Islam Is Unpopular, says Indian Actor: Saif Ali Khan

But he never claim to be authority on Islam. He just shared his views and didn’t ask others to follow him. May be people go anti, when they are shown bitter side of an ideology. Did you read that Kareena’s father got threats for marrying her daughter to a Muslim? These all things may lead to statements as given by him. Further, he also says that he is not afraid because he has a secular image. Good for him. The topic will again go in same ‘says who’ direction, but let me say this as well that these Muslim actors are required to show secular image, which is otherwise tilted towards pooja paat of Hindu deities, to attract masses. they can;t act strictly like Auragzeb to get success in their careers. For Aurangzeb, India’s Jama masjid Delhi is better place then studios.

Re: Islam Is Unpopular, says Indian Actor: Saif Ali Khan

Okay, first of all, you don’t have to be an authority on Islam to come up with a view you hear day in day out on TV.

I don’t know what you mean when you say “he didn’t ask anyone to follow his view”…???

And what do you mean people go anti when shown bitter side of an ideology? You mean Muslims become anti-Saif because he’s talking nonsense?

Well, I’m not anti-Saif or pro-Saif for that matter…but I’m willing to point out the fallacy in his statement.

But I don’t know why are you willing to justify his secular pretence for his audience!

Re: Islam Is Unpopular, says Indian Actor: Saif Ali Khan

I don’t think he’s pretending to be hedonist or illuminati. You just need to read his views to work that out. He’s very much into that crap and waiting for his king to come out from hiding.

Anyway, I don’t even know what we were talking about…with Aurangzaib and Lal Qila and what not in the picture. I feel dizzy.

Re: Islam Is Unpopular, says Indian Actor: Saif Ali Khan

isnt he the lalloo that called his wife fat or ugly or both?

Re: Islam Is Unpopular, says Indian Actor: Saif Ali Khan

I as a viewer of his movies don’t find myself binding to follow whatever he says. Thats what I mean by ‘follow Saif’. Everyone is enough sensible to look at proper authority while following a particular aspect of life including religion. Its just an individual’s view which has acceptance among certain quarters like opposition from other quarters.

Our personal experiences do affect our ideologies. I don’t follow division in the name of sects because of some of my personal experiences. Like, if a person or people related to him / her gets threats, he will definitely show his positive feeling about a system, where religions have less say and people can not interrupt your personal lives in the name of religion.

I’m neither supporting his secular instance nor his spirituality / religion is my concern. He obviously knows what suits him, spiritually as well as his market value as an actor.

Re: Islam Is Unpopular, says Indian Actor: Saif Ali Khan

same here. but I think I’m still in hosh to remember that we din;t talk about Laal Qila in this thread

Re: Islam Is Unpopular, says Indian Actor: Saif Ali Khan

I must have missed something or it’s late in what has already been a very long day…but you didn’t justify the existence and actions of ISIS, did you?

Re: Islam Is Unpopular, says Indian Actor: Saif Ali Khan

I used to think Kareena to be a gold-digger…now I would have to say that he got what he deserves…:cb:

Re: Islam Is Unpopular, says Indian Actor: Saif Ali Khan

I certainly hope you didn’t ask this just to get a reaction out of me. Anyone who’s been following up WA knows my stance on Syria, Assad, and ISIS.

Besides, ISIS is probably the biggest enemy of Sufis so yeah I would be offended if anyone accused me of “justifying” the actions of ISIS.

Re: Islam Is Unpopular, says Indian Actor: Saif Ali Khan

They deserve each other. Seems like her bimbo, self-centeredness has rubbed off on him too…not that I was a fan of him before. Why are people do eager for them to reproduce? Please don’t.

Re: Islam Is Unpopular, says Indian Actor: Saif Ali Khan

Exactly.

Monk, he never said that. Not once.

It is because of the actions of some people. I see some of them myself…who don’t feel a sense global responsibility towards the rest of the Muslim world. So no, its not just the media (although they do play a big hand in this) and until we stop dumping our issues on media…this is just how it will be.

People -

Opinions are just that…opinions. He has the right to say what he wants about Islam or any other faith for that matter. So what? He also mentioned that he doesn’t consider himself Muslims so WHY are we taking what he says sooo seriously?

Plus, he’s not anti-Islam…he’s anti extremism. That and the fact that he just seems like the kinda guy who hates rules of any kind hence his ideas about modifying Islam.

Regardless…who cares? Since when did we start to look at Saif Ali Khan for moral guidance? And as far as sense of responsibility towards the public…wouldn’t it be worse if he acted like he was a saint but his actions spoke otherwise?

Saif Ali Khan is a **supposed **Muslim Indian Bollywood actor who’s married to a Hindu Kapoor girl. It would be stupid of him to start swinging the Qur’an around pretending as if he lives his life by it. He’s watching out for himself and playing the field as neutrally as possibly…why would he not?
