Is the Pakistani public aware of the fact that

that the gender of a baby depends on men and not women?
I have heard of a case where a woman was murdered by her husband in Pakistan hours after giving birth because she gave birth to a girl and she already had one and her husband wanted a boy.

mommy always gives X and papa’s little guys could either be carrying Y or X so it’s all up to papa

XX = kaki
XY = kaka

Re: Is the Pakistani public aware of the fact that

Sorry to say very few people know that. Literacy is very low back home and plus we also have few educated illiterate that don't understand this scientific fact.

Just very sad.

Re: Is the Pakistani public aware of the fact that

i'd believe that. henceforth every useless man who thinks in a low way such as think and who would prefer to have a carlo instead of a christina oughta get shot.

Well in this case her husband should be burnt alive.

Khair....literally half of pak population is illiterate and rest half is either mentally retarded or just complete morons.

And that justify's the story you heard;)

Re: Is the Pakistani public aware of the fact that

well it depends on both parents X chromosomes from the Father and Y from the mother fight it out in an ultimate Battle of death for the Sexes!

i don't think literacy is a big factor in this. i don't think most people who are educated know that either, unless they have studied biology.
perhaps there should be informercials on tv explaining this fact.

mommy always gives X and papa's little guys could either be carrying Y or X so it's all up to papa

Well taking it islamic way! For the 97% of the populations of Pakistan who has never read the trasnlation of the Quran. The Quran describes it that it is God's will that an angle comes down and selects the Gender for Male or Female and thus you shouldn't be blaming any one becasue its God's decision. Well the so called Muslims of Pakistan would understand that if they read the translation fo the Quran and actually try to understand it instead of bragging how many times they've finished Qurain in one year! Seriously im not joking dont believe me read the Quran i forgot what Sura its from but its in there perhaps in the 28th chapter.

Why didn't he just divorce if he was that angry????? not that it would have solved the prob obviously but I mean if he no longer wanted to be with her

Many hospitals in the UK will refuse to disclose the gender of a baby during scans if the couple having it are of Pakistani/Indian/Bangladeshi origin. That's what a bad reputation us desis have when it comes to gender selection :(

Re: Is the Pakistani public aware of the fact that

Infomercials sounds like a good idea.

But sadly, male superiority is so rampant in the desi culture that it will be hard for them to accept that.

Literacy is important and so is education on the biology of this.

Re: Is the Pakistani public aware of the fact that

yeh its actually pretty sad. It goes back as far as the kings and pharaohs. im sure there are even men around the world that may know that it depends on the man and not the woman, but just deny it. it’s horrible.

but these men have gotta have some mental issues no? regardless of who it depends on, it’s not like someone can control it. why would u kill someone!

and anyway whats wrong with having a girl! they are far smarter than boys! :snooty:

lol ok

How sad is this! And here Islam puts soo much affection and care towards women and then ALLAH puts these animals on earth and they take all the rights away from women.

If only i could get my hands on such a man, he would not see the light of day for the rest of his miserable life.

Doesn't matter whose genes determine the sex of the baby - the point is it's out of everyone's control. What part of this don't people get.

Re: Is the Pakistani public aware of the fact that

It's nobody's fault. It's a matter of chance. Yes the possibility is powered by the sperm but again the guy can't tell which sperm would fertilize the egg.

Literacy....ummmm, surprisingly even the educated people act this way. Even after knowing the odds, they still blame the woman for having a female child. Funny part is, it is mostly women who condemn other women. You hardly hear of fathers in law taunting their bahu or dad's praying for their daughters to have boys. It's usualy the moms or the MILs. Makes me wonder why women hate each other. Barbaric society. Shame shame.

Re: Is the Pakistani public aware of the fact that

but it is the girls fault partly.. to be in the wrong place at the wrong time getting married to someone like that.. isnt it, gaia bibi?

Oh yeah. It’s the girl’s fault to have been born in the first place. Why couldn’t she been like those animals who can change genders :hmmm:

Re: Is the Pakistani public aware of the fact that

oh no, niksik. the baby is innocent, the mom is to blame for not taking precautions knowing what the society/husband/inlaws are like.

Re: Is the Pakistani public aware of the fact that

yeah you are so right :hmmm:

guess who's blaming the girl now..:) jk

I wish i could agree with that but only a small % of this world gets to choose who they wanna marry mostly in the west, and mA' its getting much better in the east but still the % of marriage's without the choice of both parties is still pretty high. Therefore, most women do not have the freedom of precautions!
