Re: Is Punjab next?
Yaar, agar jhoot bolna hay tou PML(N) kee tarah North Punjab may jaa kay bolo, where many without upper chamber can buy anything :)
On this forum if you lie than people could ask proof for that too. So, if you are saying that I ever even claimed that PML(Q) would sweep February election (or even going to get more than half of the NA seats) than show that. And if you can't than do not be a joker like most of PML(N) leadership and many of PML(N) supporters :D
;)
Saleem. Your capacity for prediction has been well proven.
Thank you.
Re: Is Punjab next?
For instance, if PPP and PML joins than they would have 192 seats, that is more than half of Punjab assembly (excluding PML(F) and any new addition from 7 remaining seats) and that means PML(N) could do whatever but they would not be able to make government.
Yep, the PML N on it's own in Punjab would be toasted.
Re: Is Punjab next?
Why new election when PPP plus PML(Q) could easily form government in Punjab as well as in Islamabad.
On the other hand, all who wanted judges back already voted PNL(N) and that includes JI (Qazi), TI (Imran), and other APDA voters. All this boycott was BS as turnout in Feb election was 44 percentage and that is quite good figure, much better than past. So, most likely PML(N) in next election would lose plenty of votes (and seats) than gain anything.
Saleem bhai. You are absolutely right. The judges issue is dead - infact it never was an issue to the public. One can see this from the low percentage of votes PML (N) received for its two point agenda - the restoration of EX CJ; and ouster of Great President Musharaf.
Oh well, there is always the next elections, and the hope that the EX CJ will be restored with all the Unprecedented Powers given to him by Great President Musharaf. Otherwise, people can accept what Great Zardari has been saying and accept the EX CJ with reduced powers from what he had bestowed upon him by Great President Musharaf.

lol great zardari is saying he wants to impeach great president musharraf! Aalsi, how dare you call for the impeachment of great president musharraf by supporting great zardari.
Re: Is Punjab next?
Another one Reza's lie's exposed, PML[N] has the largest votebank in Punjab in the provincial assembly. I kept asking him for proof, and he kept dodging it.
Re: Is Punjab next?
The PM or the CM will usually be from the largest single party in the coalition.
The PPP PM can survive without PML N support. But the PML N CM in Punjab cannot survive without PPP support.

Yup, it only got 19% of the votes nationally, and came second in Punjab - behind the PML Q. If the PML N was so confident that it would sweep the elections, it would ask for a dissolution of the Punjab assembly, and then fight the elections. It knows it will be trounced, that's why it is hiding behind the black coats.

Reza bhaijan. According to some people on GS, PML (N) will now be the most popular party in Pakistan. Nawaz Sharif should take their advice and ask for new elections to show his popularity. :)
Re: Is Punjab next?
**Gilani replaying his anti-Nawaz role in Punjab after 20 years **
ISLAMABAD: When Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani met the head of the forward bloc of the PML-Q in Lahore last week, many were reminded of his role 20 years ago when he had worked for General Ziaul Haq to force a no-confidence motion against the then chief minister of Punjab, Mian Nawaz Sharif. Gilani was then quietly dispatched from Islamabad, as the railways minister in the Junejo cabinet, by the then military dictator Gen Ziaul Haq to make Sharif fall in line.† Gilani always admitted on record that his political credibility in the eyes of politicians of Punjab was greatly exploited by General Zia, Pir of Pagara and Mohammad Khan Junejo to bring down Nawaz Sharif, after he had started asserting his position in the province. The mission of Gilani was very simple: go to Lahore and convince the maximum numbers of MPs in the Punjab Assembly to sign a no confidence motion against Punjab chief minister Nawaz Sharif who was showing defiance to two top guns who claimed to have brought him into power. The purpose of this mission was to massage the ego of General Zia, as the events later confirmed. Now Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani ironically repeated his own 20 yearsí old performance last week in Lahore, when he met the members of the forward bloc of the PML-Q to once again send a message to Nawaz Sharif to either fall in line or face the stick.
Interestingly, Gilani himself recorded this historical episode of his life in his autobiography “Chahey Yousaf Say Sada” which he published from his jail cell. † On Page 94 of his book, Gilani wrote that he was working as the railways minister in the cabinet of Junejo. Soon, it emerged that Junejo and Pir Pagara were not seeing eye to eye with Nawaz Sharif who was then the chief minister of Punjab. "Even General Ziaul Haq used to complain in his private conversations that Nawaz Sharif used to tell him on his face that he was chief minister Punjab only because of the fact that he had the support of MPs in the Punjab and General Zia had no role whatsoever in his elevation as CM Punjab. This had greatly hurt the ego of General Zia who wanted to teach a lesson and let him understand that he was the CM not because of his own political strength but because Zia was supporting him. "One fine morning, Pir Pagara who is also a relative of Gilani summoned him and told him that General Zia had appointed Junejo as the prime minister and Ghaus Ali Shah as the chief minister of Sindh on his recommendation. So, this time he won’t make him (Yousuf Raza) the chief minister of Punjab. Pagara advised his young relative to go to Punjab and act there as he was also the candidate of chief ministerial post of Punjab. Pagara thought that when Gilani would have the backing of many top parliamentarians of Punjab Assembly, he might put some pressure on Zia to think about Yousuf Raza as a possible candidate for the slot of chief ministership. "A jubilant Gilani went to Lahore on a train and was received by many MPs on the railways station thinking that he was the future chief minister of Punjab. Gilani converted the official hostel Chamba House into an alternate “chief minister house” and deputed his own railways police to further give currency to his claim that it was matter of few days before he would be given oath. As a result of his efforts, Ch Pervez Elahi ditched the Nawaz camp and very soon they got the political support of 102 MPs. The names of MPs who gathered around Gilani included Sardar Nasrullah Khan Dareshak, Sardar Ashiq Gopang, Malik Allah Yar Khunda, Sardar Allah Yar Hiraj, Makhdoom Altaf, Sheikh Yousuf, Sarfraz Nawaz, Asghar Ghurki, Rafiq Haider Leghari and others.
"As Nawaz Sharif came to know about the changing political situation after the coup by Gilani, he immediately flew to Islamabad and held separate meetings with General Zia, Junejo and Pagara to reaffirm his political affiliation and loyalty. The result of these sudden meetings was that General Zia issued a statement from Islamabad that “Nawaz ka Kila mazboot hai”. Junejo also issued a statement in which he said no change would take place in Punjab. Pagara said there was a hole in the sack of Nawaz which had been filled. Gilani felt betrayed and cheated by Zia, Pagara and Junejo as he got the loud message from his three political godfathers that he was only used to make Nawaz fall in line, otherwise there was no plan to remove Nawaz from the top slot of Punjab. **Now after 20 years, last week in Lahore, Gilani was once again found meeting MPA Najaf Sial of PML-Q who is heading the forward bloc in the Punjab. Many believe that Gilani was meeting MPs of forward bloc on the instruction of Zardari to see the possibility of any future alliance with PML-Q. **But once again Gilani is being used as a bargaining chip to make Nawaz Sharif once again fall in line as it was done in 1986 to please Zia, Junejo and Pagara. But this time PM Gilani may not feel betrayed and cheated as he had felt in 1986, because this time he is willingly part of this new power game which is being unleashed in Punjab.
Re: Is Punjab next?
Reza73, whats this, great Gillani isnt even willing to accept the resignations out of his love for the PML[N]
ISLAMABAD: Nine federal ministers of Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) Tuesday submitted their resignations to Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani.
** The prime minister refused to accept the resignations and said that the decision on the matter will be made after return of Asif Ali Zardari to home.**
**“The government needs your advice and guidance,” Gilani told PML-N ministers. **
Earlier, nine PML-N ministers Khwaja Saad Rafique, Ishaq Dar, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Rana Tanveer Hussain, Tehmina Daulatana, Khwaja Asif, Chaudhry Nisar, Ahsan Iqbal and Sardar Mehtab Khan reached Prime Minister House and submitted their written resignations to the prime minister.

Nawaz Sharif's principles stop when it comes to foregoing his Punjab govt.
Re: Is Punjab next?
^ Great Zardari has said he wont interfere with the Punjab Govt which has an overwhelming majority.
Re: Is Punjab next?
PPP Senior Punjab Minister Raja Riaz calls on PML Nawaz to quit Punjab government.

Re: Is Punjab next?
RP, Great Zardari is much powerful than Raja Riaz.
Re: Is Punjab next?
Why is Nawaz Sharif not followinghis principles and quitting Punjab govt aswell? Is that because that it is only in Punjab that Nawaz Sharif has any support and not in the other provinces?
Re: Is Punjab next?
^ That is true Nawaz League has only major support in Punjab, but come on, that doesn't mean that Nawaz League is not allowed to turn the lives of the rest of the country a living hell.
Re: Is Punjab next?
Brother, there are 45 to 48 million registered voters in Punjab. Do you know that how many voted for PML(N)? ![]()
PML(N) got 6 million votes in Punjab, or 12 to 13 out of every 100 votes. And yea, that 12 to 13 percent votes from Punjab includes JI (Qazi), TI (Imran) and votes of all parties in APDA, still it was less than what votes PML got and few thousand votes more than what PPP obtained. I do not think that it can be called ‘major support’, or is it? ![]()
Re: Is Punjab next?
^ Waisay who is the one that can leash the N-League in Punjab?? If it is PPP that can prove suicidal. Besides now BB is not alive either , so there would not be much BB votes either except perhaps for Sindh.

I think that PML(N) future is not that bright even in Punjab. Well, I believe that at present PML is divided in Punjab but I do not think that it would last. I do not think that PML(N) would be future PML of Pakistan but most likely it would be PML-Q. You could see that PML(N) got rejected by ML voters all over Pakistan apart of Punjab, and eventually that rejection would happen in Punjab too.
Well, I believe that even in Punjab PML(N) got a small portion of ML votes. I think that PML(N) include votes of APDA parties that includes JI (Qazi) and TI (Imran), plus personality votes and sympathy votes. So let wait and see next general election :)
