BBC News - Footage emerges of ‘Iranians fighting in Syria’
Video footage has emerged that appears to show Iranian nationals dressed in military clothing operating inside Syria and apparently working with government forces.
It comes as Russian and US foreign ministers prepare to hold talks in Geneva to discuss to dismantling Syria’s chemical arsenal.

Foreign fighters fighting Assad's forces is a known fact. I don't remember anyone denying that from the opposition. In fact, there were actually some appeals made by FSA that foreign fighters should leave Syria after the 14 year old got murdered by some extremist foreign fighting group.
Assad on the other hand, has always denied any foreign aid.

Well, it defeats the purpose of the poor 'ole syrian govt fighting against external extremists and terrorists, the line put out by the syrian govt against anyone that opposes it.

Can you explain why Assad is much worse than any other Arab dictator or tyrant, prior to this civil war what did he do that worse than the oppression the other gulf states inflicted on their population.?

We should get who we are dealing with when the person refers to Nusra cannibals as 'mujahideen'.
There are lots and lots of sectarian bigots in Pakistan and other Muslim countries. Some even on this board.
These people see nothing beyond their desire to stoke hatred and kill innocent people for their beliefs.

It is a Shia VS Sunni war to some extent. It is not only Iranis but Hezbollah is in the mix too. They are like the Taliban but with more powerful weapons and are more educated. The sad truth is that it is all a power grab. No one cares how many Muslims die, only that their side wins.

Good on Iran and Hezbollah for not being confused like the rest of us and having the clarity of thought to take on these takfiris. Indiscriminate violence is the only language that these thugs speak and somebody needed to speak it back to them.

They found a way to resolve the Lebanese Civil War, I am sure they can resolve the Syrian Civil War.

al qaida & taliban are fighting as rebels with backing from america killings 100's everyday and even used chemical weapons ( no rebels died only innocents and assads soldiders)

iranians aren't fighting the al-Qaeda/jibhat al nusra...they're killing the Syrian people indiscriminately. These Iranian snipers have orders to kill anything that moves.

For one thing Assad (a minority Alawite) is inflicting harm on people of the state that he had control over ... They are not his people and he is not leniently dealing with them as though they are his people ...

No ... The Iranian fighters are up minarets with stocks of bullets and food ... And they are shooting anything that moves ... They care for the lives of neither moderate Sunnis, Sufis nor Salafis ... They are under orders to continue unrest and destabilise the insurgent areas. They are very successful in their work so far ...

Let me tell you openly ... Sufis are not happy with Iranian intervention ... Even if the Jihadists came in for their own power their premise was to protect the oppressed people ... Now the Iranians premise is to help Assad continue his oppression ... That itself is a massive problem.
