If that were the case TLK Bhai, there wouldn't have been a single gay person roaming The Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
But have you noticed that there are more gays coming out of the closet in Pakistan now, as compared to Zia time. Why? Because there were more Islamic laws being imposed at state level then than now
Having a name Islamic Republic does not make a country Islamic?

Religion is a way of life.. Many homosexuals claim they were born that way, they can't help being homosexual.
Why do some sins offend us more than others?
Don't you remember gays have been years before Pakistan was born and if you remember Quran then you should know that ALLAH has sent azaab to gay people. "Qaum-e-loot" were showered by stones because they were gay and homosexuals.
SO it means gay people according to islamic idealogies are sinner as Quran reminds us they are unacceptable. If you are living in a free country then its fine and if you are following Islam then its not right to be gay.And Pakistani people who are gay as you can say are not good followers of Islam.

UZ I agree with every word you say.
But see if I was a gay(biological/hormonal-imbalance). And when I would stand in-front of God would he even ask me why I had those feeling??
**
1-My only problem is, state supporting that life style.
2-Individuals ready to twist Islam to fit there needs/thinking.**
Same goes for "occasional" drinker. I mean If you do a sin; call it a sin!!
And to address other issue of qaum-y-loot, they could be just like ancient Greeks, where they did have S with young boys.
We see that in Pakistan too, straight men do S with boys. Well that sure is going against God
But those ""khusras" they don't seem to have much of a choice.
Only God knows our biological-mix And he is going to question. :)
the simple answer to your query is every religion (monotheistic ones, especially) forbids homosexuality.
so if a homo is gay and still calls him/herself muslim then he dont know what Islam teaches em.
ps. its the way it is. either follow it or either dont follow the religion and be what ever you want to be.
we have the same issue with ahmedia. they call themselves muslims but they dont believe on Khatam-e-Naboot (PBUH).
ps2. dave chappel put a very good analogy of this notion that closing your eyes doesnt make one who he/she is really not.

!
Being religious is nothing but going against what your heart desires .. I am not acting like a mufti, but I think that the argument 'I was born with such feelings' is not going to hold any value if you are otherwise a sane person.
Sin is only allowed for the people who are mentally ill. So unless we admit that homosextuality is a mental disorder, it may not pass the religion test
im so glad we are discussing homosexuality and islam. yet again. on a thread on another topic.
is there anyone here who doesn't know stuff like "a sin is a sin" or the old testament tale of a vengeful god killing people with rocks from the sky? these are NOT sensible or logical arguments. stop talking about these things on this thread.
Intellectual honesty require you have no ego around the discussion.
I know the circle, you going to think around for next ten years. Yet I keep quiet. To see If you ever say any thing of your own. A new idea. Some thing which I haven't heard from my Indian roomies before.
Coming back to topic people who are born atheists I don't have problems with them but when one is born muslim and then converted to atheist just to follow his/her heart desires knowing that converting from religion is a sin. Then definately its a spiritual heart disease.
Queer, my argument against homosexuality is that its something that nature never intended. People can experiment that (its their choice), but living that lifestyle is being irresponsible human being who has no regards for the social evolution and only interested in his or her pleasure. When your life revolves only around your pleasures, its called being selfish.
But Gina they are denying the existence of GOD that is not right also its one way or same that you don’t believe in ALMIGHTY ONE.
Gina sometimes we don’t know but some small sins are bigger.Like I heard that if you curse someone with “MAA BEHAN Ki gaali” it is a big sin like you have killed someone. Now you tell me we think cursing is so small.
I’m going to attempt to take the thread back to the original topic which is why is it that SOME desi’s have turned into atheists
PM, are you talking to me? aren’t you the one who posted a few times on here saying there is nothing to discuss? now you want “new idea”? what is your little tantrum really about? why can’t you leave this thread alone like you are urging everyone else to?
anyone else notice how PM constantly trails Gina around and ruins threads?
I'm comparing them because there are greater/graver sins.. being a gay doesn't make it to the top 7 biggest sins in Islam.
UZ, they're denying the existence of a God alltogether.. they aren't associating any partners to Him. They (Atheists) have the first part right "la illaha.." (there's no God) they just don't blv the rest of it.
UZ, some sins are bigger no doubt and they are:
1.) Associating partners with God.
2.) Murder
3.) Zinna
4.) Witchcraft
5.) Not paying zakat
6.) Disrespecting parents
7.) Abandoning relatives
8.) Not praying
9.) Not perfoming hajj when able to
10.) Zinnah
Surely, Allah does not forgive associating anything with Him, and He forgives whatever is other than that to whomever He wills. (al-Nisa 4:48 and 116)
