Re: Indian: Hey are you Indian?
Then whts the fuss ... tell them u are American ....
And if you are so concerned about the ideology you forefather fought for .. then you shouldnt be living in America .. as American way of living and culture is way different from the weltanschauung your progenitors fought for ....
So I can't live in America and call myself a Pakistani? And I'm not concerned about the ideology. I don't necessarily agree with the ideology. I just stated that Pakistan was created to seperate the Muslims from the Hindus and because of that, it was based on Islamic principles. I can't say that I myself completely agree with this approach, so I don't know why you're involving my personal situation into the argument.
Re: Indian: Hey are you Indian?
Just to clarify: this thread is not about Pakistanis not liking Indians or vice versa. It’s about some Indians not acknowledging that we are our own country.
saieen, quit talking to me. You’re a pervert, remember?. And apparently so am I. So I think it would be best if we kept away from one another. If you post in response to me again I will alert the GUPSHUP administration. ![]()
Re: Indian: Hey are you Indian?
Phtima you 100% right, but I also warn you are going face some serious criticisms.
Some time even on GS.
Re: Indian: Hey are you Indian?

I've been around long enough to have known that from post #1. :D but thanks for the heads up pal.
Re: Indian: Hey are you Indian?
I strongly doubt that this conversation ever happened -- you probably just made it up for effect.
An average Indian (outside of Kashmir) would barely know about "Muzaffarabad" --- much less the fact that it is on the Pakistani side of Kashmir. Many would probably think it is a town in UP/Bihar.
thats true, when i was kid, i used to think even Lahore is in india
Re: Indian: Hey are you Indian?
change the title of thread to something like “india(ns) pakistan(is) oh same thing”.
The present title gets people the wrong idea na
Re: Indian: Hey are you Indian?
Yea, maybe. But I think people should probably (and maybe I'm asking a little too much) read the first post to atleast understand what the thread is really about.. as opposed to just the title :D
Re: Indian: Hey are you Indian?
If one uncle says its the same thing, then that doesnt mean that he does not acknowledge the existence of Pakistan. Other than u r muslim and he may be hindu most of the things are common. 60 years of separate existence did not lead the people apart. Most likely he may speak the same language, same food habits and same dress sense. He would probably communicate with you better than with a american of other origins. Besides he would just would like to ease your mind that he does not discriminate u for being Pakistani and is welcome to have a chat or willing to help if need arise. Its purely instinctive response and he might not have put too much thought into it.

Obviously he is not your average Indian.
And given his close ties with Pakistan, your reply would have hardly hurt him.
Re: Indian: Hey are you Indian?

That reminds me of a Fiji Indian I met in the US. He had never been to India and was telling me -- "I would really like to visit India one day....you know... visit cities like Lahore etc"

Re: Indian: Hey are you Indian?
Why as she annoyed. Namste does not mean anything bad. It just means I bow to you. I don’t care if people wish me namaste or sallam or sat sri akaal. The the fact that the guy wanted to be nice to you should mean more than whether he said namaste or salaam. Better he should have just ignored your friend. She does not deserve more.
Re: Indian: Hey are you Indian?
not a big deal na
ham bhi tau saray chaptoan kau cheeni n saray gauraun kau amriki samajhtay hayn
Re: Indian: Hey are you Indian?
^^yea exactly! how many of us can tell the difference between a Japanese person and a chinese, korean, vietnamese person....unless you actually ask them it's really hard.
Re: Indian: Hey are you Indian?
Its very easy
Japanese are more fair skinned than Chinese
Korean and Japanese are the hardest to tell apart
