The baby that was born in North India with two faces suffers with the rare illness called craniofacial duplication, according to doctors the child is doing well. The baby named Lali is now 1-month old and has been worshipped as some sort of reincarnation of a Hindu goddess.
Baby Lali has two faces which means that she has two pairs of eyes, two pairs of lips and also two noses. When it comes to feeding the parents use both mouths. Lali also opens and shuts her four eyes all at the same time.

wow. i was just going to post this most amazing story. At first I thought, that poor little child. But when I read that she is being worshipped as a reincarnation of the Goddess of Valor Durga its even more amazing. She will lead a life of being treasured by her family and community. How wonderful for this little one!
They think she is beautiful mashallah. I dont think they'd be able to "fix" her but not sure. The parents, according to CNN have not agreed to any kind of medical studying with their little one, they just want to enjoy her. The people dont pray to her, they bring her gifts and give money to her parents and they ask to touch her feet as a sign of respect.
i found it so cute that the parents said that she feeds with one mouth and sucks her thumb with the other. they are devoted parents for sure, and love her like anyone would like a more normal child.
mirch the surgeons said the 2 skulls are fused, so it can't be fixed. what they do want to see is that if the trachea and the wind pipe are proper and don't create complications for her further on in her life.
imagine she could have been 2 babies instead she was born a single baby.
this is a very superficial world and it's great that her parents will love her unconditionally since that's how parents should be, but hopefully people won't be cruel to her. :(

oh yeah! wow i didn't even think about that aspect. i hope the parents consent to atleast letting the docs get a few scans and x-rays of her, to see what else she has 2 of.
First is that its the most highly concentrated country population-wise on the planet so statistically it follows that they'll have more of these rare types of things.
Second...the dad is a poor farm worker. The use of pesticides arent controlled or regulated over there...that could have devastating effects on sperm/egg development.
I was so fascinated with this thing that I googled craniofacial duplication and apparently its so rare that there are only a couple of documented occurrences and rarely result in a live birth. The parents dont want their baby to be studied like a lab rat (who can blame them, the child will be treasured in her village) but I'm sure the scientists are chomping at the bit to get their hands on the little one.
