If you really want Kashmir to be a country why dont you ask your govt to make a country out of POK. This would set the tone and make it more difficult for India to retain Kashmir.

That is not feasible on so many levels.
1) India continues to claim ALL of Kashmir as an integral part of India, so presumably as soon as Pakistan troops leave Kashmir, then Indian troops would waltz in. The only way to securely withdraw Pakistani troops from Kashmir (which would be required to ensure that an independent Kashmir will not be viewed as a Pakistani puppet state) is for India to make a full renunciation of its territorial claim on Azad Kashmir. No major Indian political party has the clout or will to make such a claim.
2) Azad Kashmir cannot become an independent country because it cannot get recognition from the UN - it is classified under international law, along with Indian Occupied Kashmir, as a disputed territory. The UN will never recognise Kashmir as an country until its status as a disputed teorritory is first resolved. Which bumps into the issue raised in my point 1.

Well yes .... in the UNCIP resolution it was crystal clear .... as described in the resolution , Pakistani troops were a "material change" in the situation and hence had to withdraw completely. Infact it went on to describe what happens to the territory "vacated" by Pakistani troops !!!!
However this was not accepteable to Pakistan ...... even though now it swears by UN resolution ..... so discussion went further ....
In 1952 another resolution was passed this time .... Pakistan & India both would be allowed to keep troops in Kahsmir ... if you look at the figures ... India was allowed to keep 3-4 times the troops taht Pakistan was allowed to keep in areas under its control. And as the history has shown this did not work too !!!!!
Pakistan DOES not have the capabilty to wrest Kashmir from India ..... by hook or by crook .... so it is in the interest of both the countries that they should sit down and talk about a resolution ......
