No batsman can shield a tailender for two hours. Sooner or later Irfan/Nehra will be smoked out ... much like Saddam Hussein was today :)
[/QUOTE]
haha yes!
But it would have been good if we would have crossed their score today( I am assuming we are not gonna). Alas! It is too good to hope for.
Dravid should do some slogging now... there is no point in trying to protect Nehra...

I think Inzimam did it recently...

In that case, let me rephrase it :
No batsman can shield a tailender for two hours against the Australians.....
I wasn't thinking of BD, sorry...
India 523 all out.
Dravid last man gone trying to hook Gellespie for SIX.
Aussies get a first innings lead of 33 runs. I guess the Aussies would look to quickly score around 300 before declaring and setting India a 300+ target to get in one day.

well you have to be intelligent for the sheilding, whether you are playing agaisnt Australia or against BD.

Man, what an innings! Amazing Dravid.
Such a selfless man. Refused at least 20 singles, finally lost patience and went for the hook. India owes ya buddy.

And u need a fair amount of luck too. Once the other foo( tailender) is facing the bowler, it is pure luck if he doesn't get out.
I am sure their luck would have run out fast if it was Aus in place of BD.
And yeah, Well played Dravid.
i second that, he has played one hell of a blinder, he is one ofthe most consistent and dependable test batsmen :k:

I dont agree. Usually this depends greatly on who is bowling too. Against the inexperienced BD bowlers, I would reckon someone like Inzi would find it easy to take a run on the last ball of the over and keep the tailender away from strike... it will not be so easy against the Aussies...
I agree with that but there are was to be improvising, Inzimam did that for alomst whole day agasint NZ too, and NZ are a good test team. :)
Is langer ever happy with his dismissal? ![]()
Australia 10/1(in 2.2 overs) Langer gone.
Irfan takes some stick.
how did he get out?
My cable is out so cant watch match for now …
Ponting out too
lead of 51, i sense some shivers in aussie camp :k:

he didnt take any stick. This is the problem if you comment looking at scorecard at rediff. It was 4 over throw by sehwag which is showing in his analysis.
Well bowled Agarkar and Irfan today.

LBW like before, and plumb, and like before he went muttering 'it's not fair'.
Ponting should have been out lbw to Irfan, lbw, plumb. At least we don't have to see him go on and on...

Relief, huh? Dem bowlers are finally sticking to line and length.
Overthrows are extras - why're they showing on the bowlers figs?
heard the most heart-warming thing from the Aussie comms just now. Brian Lara had tuned in to Aus/Ind match last night and watched vvs and RD bat. He is 178 n.o. vs SA. He said he was inspired by those two to go out there and do something similar to save his side. :)
