Yeah but these were private places to use the internet, not a private place to have sex.
Your asking for trouble by doing it there, even if the owners didnt know about it at the begining, they must have figuered it out. I guess thats why they decided to cash in and blackmail them.

Having privacy in those cubicles was an assumption, not a guarantee.
As my American history teacher used to say with his amusing accent.... "When you ASSuME, you make an ASS out of U and ME".
The rich in Pakistan have class and would never goto these net cafes for such things. And have you seen the pictures? Those guys look more like the working taqba of Pakistan, I wish we could post the pictures here so that you guys can see for yourself. The rich kids in cities like Isloo etc, they have their own houses at their disposals, its not like ppl living abroad, cramped in small houses. I would also appreciate it if someone can post some credible evidence that three girls committed suicide due to the exposure of the pictures.
yaar koi links bataaey na, kaafi bechain ho raha houn..
^^
Jaa ke roza rakho, chotay.
I had heard about the clothing stores. They have cameras in fitting rooms in the US too so I am always a bit hesitant to go and try on stuff, but I hadn’t heard about the net cafes -
That is indeed very disturbing. The people filming should be sued as well as they are invading privacy. Of course they would not be brought to justice as usual. How utterly disgusting!!

Not really. So what if they listen to my calls... there isn't anything that they could do to affect my life. In the aftermatch of the war on terror, many of my phone calls are certainly being recorded without my knowing.
[/QUOTE]
I was told that every time they hear the word "islam" and "Allah" on the phone lines, the calls get recorded automatically. Which means all of my calls have been recorded since 9/11 cuz we say salam alaikum and mashallah, inshallah on a daily basis.

The net cafe owners never provided any guarantee of privacy. Plus taping the cubicles has the benefit of providing a record of any theft of property going on, such as stealing the mouse from a computer, or, worse, opening the computer and removing the small valuable components inside.
Using camera footage for the purpose of blackmail is unacceptable, but I see nothing wrong with making the recordings themselves. Furthermore, I do not believe that Pakistan has any laws making it mandatory to inform people when they are under electronic surveillance, as exists in the UK.
The cafe owners themselves have done nothing wrong by making video recordings of their own property, where they have provided no guarantees of privacy. They are completely within their legal rights. Where they break the law is in using legal video recordings for the purpose of blackmail.

as long as they are not hidden. there is absolutely no problem.
for some reason when maddy goes all "they havent done anything wrong" ... "there no laws" ... i feel like taking a shot gun and killing a bunny, or a kitten or something. Is it my hatred for nerds or the british or british nerds?

No, it's envy of my foot :)
Oh well, back in 2001, I went to a LHR net cafe (moon market) to check my mail as my computer at home had caught a virus and I was expecting an urgent mail. My mom was with me and we stopped over at a cafe and when we went inside, not only the "guys" (that was the only public there) started to stare at us strangely but also I felt too uneasy in that atmosphere as it was too dark and a bit stinky. I quickly checked my mail in5 mins and left. Never wanted to visit one again in that place.

This is all so weird.
we know how people talk aand talk in pakistan. They have nothing better to do than look for ways to bring their neighbor down and i can only imagine the things these kids would have had to hear. Its all over, im sure atleast one of their cousin saw them n ofcourse turnin the other cheek is almost considered haraam, gossip is so much better... no wonder poor girls commited suicide. Taping for theft is one thing but selling these public and (some r blackmailing the girls) is a total violation of rights. I can sit here and say pakistan should do this and pakistan should do that, but that would be unfair beause i dont have o clue how things r run down there. If anything, atleast people willl be cautious next time they wana shag somewhere
Thanks to our media which is educating new ways of love . Our dramas, our songs just about everything. Yeh to hona hi tha. Way to go Pakistani media!!! Good job in making the country enlightened and moderate.![]()
I dont think making love in a netcafe is such a good idea. I dont know who came up with this idea and why?. But the point of concern here is the exploitation and blackmailing culture. Why people like to make money out of some one's else suffering. Some are paying price by their lives. Netcafe owners are the real criminals and they should be charged for that.
thanx for the article in urdu. i think it from jang news paper because zero point is their column.
neways i agree with the writer (in the article) in pakistan people sadly get the technologies but fail to get the sense to use it and further more no laws applicable either. Its going to sound really trite but all rounds up to our criminal justice system which you might have guessed sucks!!
leave the moral dilemma on one side but the owners and people who black mail these young fools are the real problem.
