I read an article by Javed Chaudry on Jang, about a NetCafe situation in rawalpindi. Guys (and Gals) who came to the cafe were given a private cubical, but their actions were video tapped by hidden surveillance cameras. It recorded the information about the websites they visited, and other (objectionable) activities, and the company used them to make money by selling them. Some people who got these videos, traced the individuals shown in the video, for blackmailing purposes. End result, 3 girls killed themselves out of shame, one girl divorced, few guys ran away from home.
In the end of the article, the writer claims that he has people telling him that these hidden cameras are also installed in try rooms of some clothing stores and they are also involved in this dirty business.
I have never been to a NetCafe in pakistan, so I cannot comment on this. I think it is good to know wats going is, so that you wont be the victim. I would like to hear from others, who know more about these activities.
They did a whole program on this shown this past weekend on GEO … or was it ARY … one of them. My parents were totally s.h.o.c.k.e.d. … and so was I. They showed some of the footage taken with the secret camera. Weird and slightly disturbing stuff.
OK, what's wrong with someone visiting porn sites in an internet cafe? How is this different from watching x rated films on the big screen in some of the cinemas?. I don't get what was so shameful about the things they were taped doing in those cafes.
What was disturbing (to me at least) were the secret rooms/cubicles where these kids could go and make out. I dunno. I always thought an internet cafe should be just that ... an internet cafe ... not a place to go and shag.

Funguy it was NOT the porn sites that resulted in such horrible consequences. It was a lot LOT more than that.
Lasst year or so there were forwarded emails about an internet cafe in gulshan-e-iqbal karachi and it had some snaps in it. THat was quite disturbing too but this time it seems net cafe owners have taken it to the next level.
Yeah someone emailed me stills of these kids making out in cubicles some time ago. They look like desi kids though i cant be sure what city theyre from. Could just as well be from an indian net cafe as much as it could be from a pakistani one. Need proof? PM me :D

Jang isn't one of the most reliable sources of information but a url to the article would be appreciated....

Unfortunately in Pakistan once you ahve purchased the clothes there is no giving back unless its defective maybe?!?!?! So in Pakland you don't have the option of bringing your clothes home and trying them on. I do that here all the time though.
I personally believe that the women in those pictures were prostitutes, and not some girls from different colleges (or shareef gharanaz), like that article suggested. The newspapers simply twisted and made up their own stories as they know people love reading about such stuff.
