Thats the most excellent post of the thread.
Thank you Mostar! in that post I pointed more towards his followers. Let me elaborate a bit more about Imran as a person.
Unfortunately this thread has now been bitten by the same bug of personal rivalries - A hallmark of "tribals" all over the world. Just like this thread, Pakistan too is in the throws of tribalism. Thanks to our religion, even the city folks have turned into uncouth tribals. Our "civilized" city folks were supposed to be the leaders, but unfortunately they turned into sheep being herded around by the tribals.
Tribals now show up in big cities, setup shop in mosques, get their bomb laden jackets and cars, and trucks ready and then explode these nefarious religious symbols in the middle of their intended place.
And what do Imran the civilized do in this situation? Support the same ucouth tribal bombers.
Question is why does he do such a heinous thing? I mean this guy was born in Punjab, went to elite Pakistani schools like Aitchison College and then prestigious oxford.
From every aspect of his upbringing, he was supposed to be the flag bearer of Pakistan's urban elite. And yet so strangely he comes across the biggest supporter of uncouth tribals.
Many people blame this to his ethnicity aka Mianwali's half Punjabi half Pashtun background. I don't think that's true.
It is less of ethnicity and more of religious tribalism that makes up his political stance. In some ways, deep down he is behaving like the same uncouth British-born tribals who aspire to become martyrs in the name of Allah.
And the very religious brutal tribalism has kept him from achieving his true potential.
But there is hope. He is 56 years old now (wiki lists his birth year of 1952). He still has 10 years to become mature and see the light.
If he does so, and moves away from religious tribalism, he could very well prove to be a great leader.
