Importance of education/qualification

Ever run into parhe likhe jaahil? Ive run into quite a few of them! Your definition of an educated person is what? A degree holder or someone who has been through X amount of schooling? I live in Chicago...what I call Desi Central...here the most educated people are the ones you find at the lowest possible grade on the moral meter. No, education does not necessarily bring about morality. In some cases, it causes a person to become more ayyaash then ever before: money being the root of all evil.

Now, if you're talking about ISLAMIC EDUCATION, then its a different story. But college education doesnt automatically make you morally better then someone who isnt.

You might be able to say that educated people can live with difference of opinion...because they might have exposure to a variety of things. But that doesnt guarantee respect for those differences.

I believe morals have more to do with the way you are brought up.

Re: Importance of education/qualification

^ Jaanwar! I cant believe this but....................

I agree with you!

Hah! I knew it!

My view is same---

I am not talking about any kind of education here, if the islamic education make person into a better human being, yes then it is to be implemented... and dear brother, if your read my post, my emphasis is on the illiterate persons, our politicians can be one of the examples of an illiterate person, i.e. have the education from the best universities, yet known as worst people on the planet.

Re: Importance of education/qualification

^ Im a sister!

Re: Importance of education/qualification

So you are my respected Sister, i guess older than me as i am still to young...

Re: Importance of education/qualification

Being a sister doesnt make me older then you automatically

Why is that even an issue?

Re: Importance of education/qualification

Ha ha ha,

You truly are my sister... a younger sister

I don’t know about other women but I would not marry someone less educated than me. (but that’s just me).

Re: Importance of education/qualification

Sis has a masters and BIL has a bachelors. He is still the breadwinner of the family. I dont think they even thought about this being a problem. My husband has a masters and i am hoping to one day finish mine and go on to a Phd InshaAllah. I dont see that as a problem either, infact hubs has been very encouraging in this regard, Alhamdulillah.

Jis baat ko problem banana ho woh ban jati hai.

Original quoted from Hanibal!

Education is there to create a personality out of a human, the only difference between the educated person and illiterate is of decency and language. A educated person is one carries following traits

Tolerance

2) High Moral Values ( compare to the society they live in)
3) Respect for others
4) Living with difference of opinion

**The entire western World is educated. Why do we have wars, then? Plus, can you please tell me why we live in a time of financial crisis? I have enough background information to tell you what exactly is going on, if you want I tell you...but you tell me, to me it seems, education doesn't mean necessarily Respect for others as we see in the world. Education rather means that I'm for example superior over you (this is what you proved in your PM to me)

An officer is superior over an employee. When I swear I can get charged twice or thrice heavier than if I had sweared on a employee! Is this the moral value, you are talking about? Is this Respect for others?

Just a question, nothing offensive. I found out we have the same level :D
**

And when is that ?

I think the only time girls say something smart is when they start the sentense with...

Once a man told me....

Re: Importance of education/qualification

^You are sssoooooooo looking for trouble!

Girls are way smarter than guys.

Unfortunately we have to down play our smartness to make you guys feel man enough!

NJ!! You GO girl!!!

I totally agree with this. Men need to feel like they’re in control and we have to help them feel that way!

This is soooooooooooooooooooooo true! Everytime there is a bright idea, I have to go around in circles so somehow HE comes up with it and once he does, its just brilliant!

I agree...and i would'nt marry a woman who is more eduacted than me or earns more than me.....dont wana look like an idiot in front of her!

Re: Importance of education/qualification

^ EXACTLY one of the reasons we have to down play our smartness... because then the lesser intelligent guys won't marry us! =(

Whatever :barbie:

We all know how smart you girls are! Dont need to show it off!
