I recently ran into an acquaintance of mine from school. Its been years since we chatted and the last time I saw him, he was getting married. This woman was the best thing since sliced bread. She was Pakistani American, educated, professional, beautiful, born and raised in the US, loved him like mad woman and even left her home in the US and relocated to Pakistan for him - a country she had never set foot in. She lived with him and his mother in their home in Islamabad. Apparently, she did everything for him…ironed his clothes, cooked for him, shined his shoes, made his chai, etc. Her love was so intense, it was a rarity. He had never seen a woman more in love with her husband.
They are now divorced. Her only mistake: she and her mother in law didnt get along. His mother said “mein tumhare ghar mein nahin rehpaungi, isko chordo” and he made a choice…he chose his mother.
This is heart-breaking. He will realize what he lost and then it just might be too late to apologize or do anything about it. May Allah (swt) keep her strong to get through whatever she may be feeling and/or going through. Ameen.
im more than apalled as well....this is really sad...and im actually very angry at the guy for being so under his moms thumb. he should be smart to realize that if his mother is not giving a justified reason to give the girl divorce, then he shudnt do it. i mean, his own words are that she loves him dearly, has sacrificed her country of birth, moved all the way, does so much work for him etc etc ....and STILL he didnt see that? i feel sorry for the girl....she married such a blind guy.....May Allah give her strength through this difficult time..

By the way, how come these kind of mothers so common on this billboard? Never seen or met in real life! I mean never! Something more needs to be revealed by him if he is really truthful. He might be blaming his mother for something he wanted to do.
learning from my own experience I have realised that people have forgotten about Allah. They boast about their religion and fears from Allah but they never actually do fear Him.....Qoul aur Fail main bahat farq hai . PSQ the real life story that u have written is yet another example that people have become so ignorant. I feel so sad for that lady I hope and pray she finds something good in future.
I don't understand how these mother in laws and husband sleep peacefully after destroying someone's life. Believe me when such a thing happens to a girl the whole family suffers its just not an individual suffering.
