Why do u think it was a lie on Indian surgical strike? Firstly, dealing with US is very different than dealing with India. Taking US head on means suicide for any country. As far as the whole action is concerned, there are lots of ambiguity related to the events with many questions unanswered, both the then civilian govt. and military establishment are tight lipped about it. The crashed 2nd chopper raises some question about a possible resistance there. Dealing with India is totally different ball game which can be dealt with head on given that civilian govt. backs up the military fully not like in Kargil where the elected PM ran to Washington on first phone call.
