Afghans have given Pakistan nothing but crime and ungreatfullness, before Afghans arrived people in my village could sleep outside without weapons now if people sleep in their own veranda they “wake up” with a slit throat and all their money and gold missing.
Paki on the other hand have given Britian cheap labour and we pay heavy taxes and normally obey the law..
They don’t have to chuck us out, I find this miserable country depressing as it is.
I’m going to go back to my sunny Pakistan very soon to settle down there and I’m going to enjoy all of it, my cities (Lahore, Peshawar, Karachi, Quetta) and my plains, fields, mountains and valleys because all of Pakistan is my home.
I can’t wait to go back because mentally England was never my home, I’m going to go to Pakistan for good because there’s no place like home.
And Pakis shouldnt expect greafullness, it’s not in Afghan peoples culture to show greatfullness, they’ll juist steal and steal you more and walk all over you.
Paris Noor, another thing I forgot to mention, alot of times, I have seen MUCH more patriotic Pakistanis living abroad than in Pakistan, and I really admire them, and here you are telling me that their nationalities should be revoked?
anyways guys, i have a life to take care of i gotsa jet, plus here it is murghay ki aik taang anyways :) I may check in later but i doubt anything groundbreaking will come up now.
how can you do more for your country by leaving it…instead of changing it from inside???
is it patriotic to earn live a comfy life in the west while so many people in pak are in need??
sorry but one paki friend recommended me not to live in some desi area saying they are the most criminal ones in london:bummer:i was very disappointed to hear that:(
Who says I wont go back? As long as I have my sabaz hilaali passport, you or anyone else cant prevent me from going to my Pakistan and becoming the new maula jatt of the 21st century.
Then I suggest you stop listening to that friend of yours. I was in London for the 1999 world cup where Pakistan made it to the finals, and the patriotism the Pakistanis of London showed just blew me away, and your sweeping generalization about them being criminals makes no sense! Pakistani Brits rule!
pari..theres no real opportunity for reforming a country if u have no qualification to do it. believe in pakistan all you want, but its a hard fact that almost everything in pakistan functions on INTERNAL FAVORS GRANTED BY CONNNECTIONS. so you see, you cant change a country from inside, when its run by immorality. whereas, on the other hand, if you create urself into a person capable of taking on an education - you atleast stand a chance of doing some good.
not everybody lives a comfy life in the west. im broke as hell, but at least im gearing up to lead a better life than yelling (aka debating) in pakistan, for human rights. its too bad i cant live there, cuz u dont know when you get shot in my neighborhood. so wheres the opportunity? outside the box.
Bro it’s not healthy to be delusioned like that, there was a time when I thought like you and even now when a fellow Paki bro says something unsavoury about Pashtuns I get all protective and patriotic of Pashto even if it was something we deserved but let’s put emotion aside and be realistic and rational for a bit, most Pashtuns from Afghanistan are indifferent to us Pakistani Pashtuns, Punjabi and Urdu speaking people of Pakistan are generally a lot more warm and respectful towards us compared to Pashtun people from Afghanistan, instead of being idiots we should return respect with respect.
I've hardly ever heard of or seen any instances of Afghan refugees living in harmony with the locals and this is Peshawar and Attock I'm talking about, just trouble for us and they don't think of us as blood brothers.
People of Afghanistan don’t care for us because they don’t care for Pashto as it’s all about Dari (Persian) for them now and even those who do speak Pashto speak a highly Persianised version, there might be a few people in the rural areas in the south who give Pashto importance but all the urban Afghan Pashtuns I’ve met are mostly Dari speakers, kids of mixed families almost always end up speaking Dari and I’m sure interethnic marriages in Afghanistan will rise in the coming decades, even those who speak Pashto give it an inferior status to Dari. This is the majority of Afghans I’m talking about there might be a few exceptions.
I disagree with you when you say Pashtun and Afghan are synonymous because they’re not anymore, maybe once they were and I know Pashtun poets wrote emotional poetry affirming that but the poets were not infallible and their words not timeless, all Pashtuns were once Afghan but never mind history, forget romanticism, our people have a bad habit of living in the past (and then having the cheek to blame others for our backwardness), today Pashtuns in Afghanistan are Afghans as are the Tajiks and Azaras from Afghanistan but the Pashtuns of Pakistan are just Pakistani Pashtuns who were once Afghan, Afghan is not synonymous to Pashtun anymore and never will be whether we like it or not.
I know very well about afghanistan as a nation, but you can not deny that even today only pashtuns are reffered as afghans even within afghanistan. Your own domicile affirms that you are ethnically afghan. Only weak nations throw away their identity, last I checked we are not one. Don't throw away something that is indegenously yours. Secondly I thank for actually being one of the few who actually replied politely. Whatever differences or indifferences, they are no where as big as they have been made out to be. At the end of the day, you share more with someone from ningahar. If there is an unforetunate gap between us (small and erasable one), it is nowhere near the gap within pakistan. You are willing to mend ties to non-pashtuns across the indus, but not your own? Once again don't give up your identity just for a country created 58 years ago, you can love it all you want, but if you are going to give up on afghan, then after a while call yourself desi, and leave pashtunwali. Then give up on that too. Where are you going to stop? I am sick of arguing with people on this forum who are so ignorant of history (i am not saying you are one of them), but like a fellow pashtun(afghan) bro stated a mathal:
^ These days nations are based on countries much more commonly than older ages when nations were based on either religion or similar culture.
Two countries with similar religion or culture may be friends or even be foe.
Pakistan was created 58 years ago but it has a long history of struggle.
The reason many Pakistani don't like afghani from afghanistan may be many but strong reason is that they never accepted Pakistan and perhaps they had their reason but again most important reason they did not like Pakistan is to them it brought division in pushtoon people.
Same afghanis were given shelter in Pakistan and were given freedom to live anywhere because of humanitarian and religious reasons.
We Pakistani really don't want to wash away the goodness we did to afghani by hating them and is not a good gesture from some Pakistani to spread slogans against afghani people.
Believe me if Pakistani could do more good, they would do more. BUT, with all due respect and acknowledging many goodness in Afghani people, why do they (afghani) want to live in Pakistan when they now have no active war there and they are not citizens of Pakistan? Why Afghanistan don't call on its people to come home? All they have to do is to cross the border!
We would still be good in future if needed, hope it not needed in future. And hope Afghanistan prosper and become strong and I think Pakistan must give good support to Afghanistan wherever it can.
BTW to give you a reality check and not to say it for the sake of 'hating' afghani peple: its the same Pakistan they did not accept when Pakistan was 'sort' of little child and needed all the support (even moral support) it could get from its neighbors!
Would you agree that at least moral support should have been given by Afghanistan at the birth of Pakistan?
Why would they help the same country which was going to take half of their territory? What logic is that? The land was supposed to be returned, but the British never gaev it back. Do you think the british would have supported a bigger afghanistan, encorporated by the same people(the pashtuns) whihc defeated them in the anglo-afghan wars? The kept the pashtuns(afghans) divided because of cold-war politics. No nation would accept this.
In the end, NWFP is part of Pakistan, just like it always was (according to the wishes of the people during the time of partition), thank you come again mr sabzi.
As for illegal immigrants, only time will tell whether they stay in Pakistan or are forced to leave.
Maybe in your mind you have some logic.......
All I see as I mentoned above you are upset of division in Pashtuns as the reason to dislike or hate Pakistan as a valid reason. Not logical, reasonable or acceptable for millions including majority Pakistani Pashtuns.
Whatever Afghani have the land now..... what are they doing to make it better before they talk any other land which is not even theirs?
You avoided answering my earlier post sir for whatever reason.
