depends on how long ago you would like to go.
a million years? they'd resemble apes in some ways. and god wasn't invented yet.
5 million years? they'd probably not even have a backbone.
if you want to have a conversation, you'd probably have to go back less than 10,000 years or so.
if you want them to be of your faith, maybe you should stick to less than 800 years.
if you want them to understand your speech, maybe less than 300 years.

I just don't understand how a conversation can take place with someone around 10, 000 years away yet we can only understand one another if the time difference is only 300 years apart.
