I just want to know who I look like. I think I'd rather just have a look at them and see how our genes evolved over time generation after generation. I don't want to bother them with boring questions. Actually I would want to know if we had any huge shift in financial wealth or have we always been middle class. The potential rise and fall of status would be interesting.

Good one... I am a Catholic and always wonder why my ancestors became Catholics. It is such a mystery. For someone to change their religion overnight, would be difficult.

Mostly after the advent of Muhammad Bin Qasim and the influence of Sufism later in sub-continent lead people from hinduism revert to Islam. People did this out of their own choice.

There are actually evidences that long before Muhammad Bin Qasim, some of the Sahaba (RA) of the Prophet (SAW) did travel to sub-continent and settled here. There are known graves of them at few places in Pakistan and India. This means Islam came in sub-continent right in first 35 years of Khulafa-e-Rashideen.

Such an interesting topic ..

I would like to get to know them better, I always think where my family tree could lead to .. Oh and anger runs in my family .. I would definitely want to find out whose Genes are these !

Very interesting question. I would ask them what they were hoping their descendants to be like and whether we at least come close to those expectations.

TLK's point is quite interesting too. A lot of us probably have common ancestors.
