Barbie, not quite swinging but do we have misyar marriage which in theory means a woman can have multiple partners (tho obviously not at the same time) within an Islamic legal framework.. this makes me think that it's not so much the idea of women having more than one partner being 'disgusting' but the apparent impracticalities of being married to them all at once that make it a negative in terms of religion..

its the same as taking another wife .. since it was made halal for you from day one so it would be ok for you to entertain yourself physically or mentally with another wife then why it would not be ok for your woman to do the same Only if it would have been made halal for her as well ???

My wife asks me "will you marry again?" and I ask her to stop asking me that question ... I don't want to entertain it ... even if it is made halal to me, why should I even allow myself to entertain something that may give me "yearning" ? I don't want to yearn thank you very much - I have trouble enough trying to rid myself of stray thoughts that actually entertaining one of them will mean it will become that much harder to get rid of ... True peace is when we don't "wish" and "desire" ... that is what it means to be content with the Will of Allah (SWT).
I don't care what "my woman" entertains ... she has her own life to live. My contention is to express on this forum that by doing just these things we are moving away from spirituality - so be weary.
Allowing a thought to fester can turn into a desire and desires can make us break our "value" system first in the heart and then in practice ... so it is better to curb our thoughts.

why is one man sleeping with four women not considered a male prostitute but a woman that might sleep with two men is? dont always let tradition and society decide your future...if that were the case you'd still be stuck in a cave.
Well if he is doing it illegally - Please feel free to call him a male prostitute or a complete ******* , I dont mind at all !
But if he is following a code of conduct and legally allowed to do so - then it is a different ball game !
also the OP didnt say a woman should go around sleeping with random men for money. she's suggesting a proper marriage and all that comes with it :-)

^Islam says there is no compulsion in religion. You are allowed to question and do your own research. That being said, multiple wives were allowed for a reason and that reason is no longer relevant any longer hence the need for multiple wives can no longer be justified.
Right no compulsion ? so do you consider Muhammad ( PBUH) as the last messenger of Allah ? - well if there is no compulsion in Islam , then you arent bound to believe that too !
and if you do believe it - why do you ? did you question it and did your little research on it as well ?
so my child as there is no compulsion in Religion Thus on occasions it is all about submission :)
