If someone asks a hypothetical question instead of giving a speech about how their post is haram or halal just answer the question. If we keep on going by haram or halal half the posts or threads wouldn't work.

Now, shak! enough with the right of speech and in its name making of hypothetical questions and situations to try our patience and sanity. now polygamy for women and next what? Incest? There are limits dude and it has been tried to highlight that limit. And why does the mention of religion bothersome? its our code of life, this where we start from and end. Good points Shahreyar Khan but the thing is i doubt 99% of the people who do go for 2nd or 3rd/4th marriages do so for the right reasons and even if the reason may be right, the don't end up fulfilling the responsibilities of having multiple wives at the same time. It's not a kids game to manage a single wife and the responsibilities only doubled/triple up with more wives and most men fail to fulfill them.

But ZK, that does not mean that dos and donts of Islam do not justify or are limited to time and space. Polygamy might be someone's choice on personal level but if Islam allows it, it allows it and we have no right to question what has been allowed and what is forbidden. do we?

I would politely disagree M. “our own research” can make us astray. therefore what must we ask Allah from, is the guidance to the right path, even before exercising this right of research and all that, because a hair’s breadth can turn you from momin to kafir. Again, Kufr is nothing but NEGATION. whatever commands, the dos and donts have been mentioned in Quran, and that in Ahadeeth, are the final word. Because I dont believe the Rasool Ullah would have said anything from himself. So there isnt nor should be any question regarding this point isnt validate anymore so nullifies itself and all that.

This is exactly what I am talking about. Why is it that everything is taken SO literally in Islam? Did it ever occur to anyone that perhaps that the things mentioned in Islam weren’t so they could be dissected word-for-word but rather to get a broad general idea of what Allah want from his people? And why is that you think ones faith is so weak and dependent on this idea that EVERYTHING has to be followed to a T or else you are in the “kafir” category? I am not saying interpret Islam to your convenience (because that is exactly what those crazy suicidal mullahs do to justify their actions) but it doesn’t mean you have no right to think and ponder over things you have questions about, even if it’s written in the Quran or in hadiths. Islam allows the option to make your own decisions and is broad enough to allow reasoning and debate.

Scientifically speaking, is woman even programmed to be emotionally involved with two guys at the same time or more importantly, are men programmed to share a woman with someone else? Any evolutionary psychologists here?

No. I, for myself, do not see any such intention in OP's post. maybe she posted it as a reciprocate to men's polygamy. Much agreeing with an above post here, that of course not all the men actually go for polygamy simply in the context of the situations for which i t is allowed and assume to use it (allowance)only as a pretext, sometimes our thought can go agitated what if men had to face the same: i.e. a shared spouse? But well all said and done, we must come back to the point that Allah's Providence wins always, period.
