Re: If this is true then Veena Malik should be banned in Pakistan.
Yes Pakistan is not in the West and you seem desensitized, so technically you have no right to tell Pakistani what they should be feeling or how they should be expressing! Just because you are a Westerner, doesn't mean every one has to act according to your standards. We are talking about Pakistan and a Pakistani celeb...not Americans and Kim K.
Its pretty similar to what you wrote earlier
[QUOTE]
No one has the right, Pakistani or not, to tell anyone what they should or shouldn't be doing in life just because they may share the same culture or religion
Re: If this is true then Veena Malik should be banned in Pakistan.
Btw, I don't understand this no has right no say this bluff. I live in a Western country and we have every right and opportunity to express our opinion and reaction to things fully, in speech at least (as long its not offending others). Who am I to tell Pakistani to hush up? When public opinion (or public outrage) in my country is taken pretty seriously? The only difference is Pkaistani here are venting on internet forum to ban Veena, whereas in UK we would've been filing e-petitions or running public campaigns if such level of cultural or political offense was casued in some other form. (doing all that regardless of the end result).
Re: If this is true then Veena Malik should be banned in Pakistan.
No one made such a hoo haa when salman butt, asif and ammir were sentenced to jail over the spot fixing incidnent, THEY respresented pakistan, we should be more ashamed of what THEY did, then what Veena us doing.
Re: If this is true then Veena Malik should be banned in Pakistan.
I have an idea. She should be made to donate the 10 carore rupees she is going to get from FHM for defamation ( good luck to Veena with that! ) to the Edhi Foundation in Pakistan. :)
Re: If this is true then Veena Malik should be banned in Pakistan.
Just a little comparison - while Veena agrees to play a prostitute in an upcoming movie, Ali Zafar refuses to play a gigolo even when offered munh-maangi raqam:
He also had the confidence to have his London Paris NY movie script altered to remove a kissing scene.
Incidentally, Salman Khan also has a no-kisisng clause in his movie contracts.

How can you say no one made hoo haa ? they got enough of laantain from whole Pakistan and from every pakistani in any corner of world. They are going thru trail and some got the punishment too.
Re: If this is true then Veena Malik should be banned in Pakistan.
cheap fame stunts can never earn a person respect...same is the case with Veena. And if she thinks being Rakhi Sawant would actually help her shine across the border she doesnt know what a huge price she's paying. Rest aside, she isn't important enough for us to argue that much.
But one thing's for sure...speaking out against something wrong keeps the line b/w right and wrong demarcated and also goes the hadith on the weakness of imaan '....evil should be condemned from within hearts ...and that is the weakest state of imaan'
If one continues to say why should I bother, it's her life , who am I to judge her..it would only pave way to immunity towards stuff which is anti-Islamic and wrong (be it Veena posing naked or Aamir, Asif , Butt in the spot fixing scandal)
Re: If this is true then Veena Malik should be banned in Pakistan.
queer and terebina, can you guys please lauch a lawsuit on behalf of all concerned guppies, please ?
We are too lazy. :)
Maybe southie can hook you guys up with a good law firm in India specializing in the local laws against indecent exposure and obscenity. :)
I occasionally hear of such lawsuits in India.
Re: If this is true then Veena Malik should be banned in Pakistan.
Imran Khan's personal life= messed up
Imran Khan's professional life= brilliant in every aspect
Veena Malik's personal life= messed up
Veena Malik's professional life = messed up
Who's the biggest loser? Veena Malik
OK - so now we are making judgments on a person based on their professional success. I guess Veenaji has good company - she is probably at least as successful if not much more successful than 90% of the posters here. I honestly do not see the logic being applied here.
Re: If this is true then Veena Malik should be banned in Pakistan.
When the privilege of 'Personal freedom and liberty' is used to cause offense to millions, no then I have no respect for it. Its a hardly a personal matter when its secically designed to get the public involved.
I finally see the light. Toss that woman in jail and throw away the keys.

Veenaji is an individual - why is everyone bringing religion into this.
Re: If this is true then Veena Malik should be banned in Pakistan.
So, now Veena is being compared to one's own sister/daugther/mother, etc? Wow. NODUH one will be MORE upset at their mother/sister/daugther doing such a photoshoot......that goes without saying. On one hand you have someone whom you share a blood bond with.....and the other a far-removed celebrity. But even if one's own sister (let's say) had done something like this.............how many people would want her banished from the country altogether? Some might just limit it to her being completely disowned by the family (with no communication whatsoever)........and some might not even go that far. Being banished from the family is not on the same level as being banished from a country. For those using this analogy.....they should then (without a moment's hesitation) RUSH to kick their mother/sister/daughter out of the country if they were to find themselves in such a situation. It would interesting to see how firmly they stick to their decision. It's easy to support such a decision for someone not related to you.....but for someone you have blood-ties with....it can be easier said than done. While Islam emphasizes modesty, it also emphasizes maintaining ties of kinship. What an unreasonable and flawed example to use. Absoulutely brilliant.
Nobody here is supporting Veena's photoshoot (if they really are her pictures). But disapproval doesn't necessarily have to be shown in the support of banning one from a country. It may even be argued that living within your own country and having your own people censur/reject/isolate you can be MORE of a painful punishment than being banned to a country where there will be greater tolerance/azaadi/acceptance for such actions.

Sister, looks like you didn't get the memo on preserving the moral fabric of larger society. Honor isn't an individual responsibility. Honor, in fact, resides in the female anatomy. That female can be your sister, mother, daughter, wife, or a random internet tart with interesting tattoos. (Feel free to get off to that tart, but be sure to call her out on her moral degeneration when you're done).
Remember: one woman's sexuality gone awry = everybody's izzat looted in broad daylight.
Prescription for world harmony : Control female sekshuality ----> maintain public honor ----> nobody has to go to Hell.
Gawd's word is simpal, peepul. Stop complicating things.
Re: If this is true then Veena Malik should be banned in Pakistan.
Veena is a cheap vulgar tart, she always was. why is religion being brought into this, like she used to be some sort of religious scolar....get over it,and worry about more important things in life.
