ICL reveiled the roster: Inzi, Yousuf, Razzak confirmed

Re: ICL reveiled the roster: Inzi, Yousuf, Razzak confirmed

How do you know that for sure? PCB seems to have a thing against aging stars. Afterall, Inzi doesn't figure in their plans despite being the BEST batsman Pakistan has.

Patriotism has nothing to do with playing for PCB or ICL. These players are professionals, and they are free to ply their trade wherever they want. It's illegal for PCB to deny them the opportunity to do so.

If anything, you should call PCB unpatriotic.... it's PCB who has decided to put their own commercial interests first by banning those players despite those players being the BEST available. These players didn't refuse to play for PCB.... it's PCB who's bent on denying them. PCB, BCCI and the other boards are commercial entities, they have little to do with "representing the nation".

The ICL schedule will not conflict with international schedule, so what's the problem? Why does PCB have to sanction everything a cricketer does?

And your referring to Yousaf as "Maulana" and snide remarks about his "tableegh" and religiosity aren't funny. Islam doesn't prevent anyone from engaging in trade/business/commercial activities. He's going to ICL to ply his trade, not sell nuclear secrets. His patriotism should not be even be a debateable topic.

Re: ICL reveiled the roster: Inzi, Yousuf, Razzak confirmed

^ u got it all wrong. The selectors, especially Sallu CLEARLY stated that no Pakistan test or ODI team is complete without Yousuf. He was dropped from the 20/20 because he didnt suit this format like Kallis didnt suit this format as well...and Kallis is one of the best all rounders in the game of cricket.

Flemming was dropped, and Dravid, Gangualy and Tendi. No one cried about it except our Pakistani players. Kallis was disapointed but STILL didnt sign up for the ICL.

And dont mix county with ICL. County cricket is recognized by the ICC and even when players go play county they still have to ask permission from their respective boards to go play county. Plus, its not only the Pakistani board who has banned its players from joining the ICL. Sri Lanka, India, NZ have all told their players not to join and they've respected they're boards decision. Are all those boards incompetent and stupid as well? Our Maulana Yousuf was a bit too greedy for money and went for the ICL. Simple as that. There is no other explanation.

And ICL's scedule will interfere with the International scedule. Pakistan is supposed to be playing SA when the ICL is supposed to start. What's Maulana Yousuf gonna pick then? Country or Money? Im sure money.

Talking about Inzi, his career is over..thats why he's not picked. He's got no cricket left in him. Look how he's performing against local county bowlers who are a joke. Even Kanera has a half centuary against those type of bowlers and all Inzi could muster in 3 games is 8,9, and 7. He's just proving PCB decision right by playing like this.

Stop blaming PCB. For once PCB is picking players who are fit and are the right players for the right tournament. Razzaq HAD to be dropped. He's lucky he survived the last couple years cuz Inzi was captain. Farhat has always been garbage. Yousuf...sadly i've lost all respect for him. It will just never be the same seeing him in the Pakistani jersey again...cuz all he's playing for is money..not the country...and he's totally proved it. You gotta be blind not to see that.

You did all my work yaasir. Thank you! Please read the above, brahmachari.

Re: ICL reveiled the roster: Inzi, Yousuf, Razzak confirmed

all of this shot on PCB, does national pride not count for anything?

Re: ICL reveiled the roster: Inzi, Yousuf, Razzak confirmed

No, not at all. PCB is evil, and Nasim Ashraf kills kittens for fun.

Re: ICL reveiled the roster: Inzi, Yousuf, Razzak confirmed

I agree about Razzaq (for Tests and ODIs) but his pinch hitting is something that kept him in ODIs for a while and that is what is needed in 20/20 but we can make it without him, Yousuf is far superior than Younis in all formats. Yousuf would feature in all formats as far as 'fans' are considered but we never know what our (empty) think-tanks are planning (considering their past).

Re: ICL reveiled the roster: Inzi, Yousuf, Razzak confirmed

How many times are we going to repeat this 'end of career' and 'fitness' crap? Saeed Anwar, Saqlain, Wasim and Waqar were let go for same exact reason.

Lets not compare how NZ, Eng and Sri lanka treats its players, they do a much better job than Pakistan. I am pretty sure their players found out in front face to face why they are not being picked rather seeing it on Cricket info.

Gavaskar, Binny sons join ICL

The Indian Cricket League announced its two latest signings on Tuesday, sons of former India players - Rohan Gavaskar, the former Bengal captain and India international, and Stuart Binny, the Karnataka allrounder.

Gavaskar has played in 11 one-day internationals while Binny has played for Karnataka in domestic competitions.

“This was an opportunity to play with and against international cricketers,” Gavaskar told Cricinfo. “I don’t think I would have got that opportunity by being with the BCCI - they are looking at younger players, those in the under-19s and the 20-22 age-bracket. They are looking to build a team for the next World Cup.”

He didn’t specify the package he would be getting but said he was satisfied with the ICL’s offer. “Everyone’s looking to improve their financial package. I wouldn’t have joined the ICL for free; I am happy with what I am getting.”

His decision to join is intriguing given that his father is a key member of the Indian board’s non-official think-tank. “I did speak to him and he told me the pro’s and cons, but the final decision and the responsibility of that decision is mine”, Gavaskar junior said. “When I went to Bengal, at the age of 19, he told me the pros and cons of shifting base.”

Rohan is on a three-year contract with the ICL and will join the rest of it’s recruits after the conditioning camp in Chennai.

Binny, whose father Roger was one of the members of India’s World Cup-winning side, has already joined the camp in Chennai, Bharat Reddy, the ICL’s Talent Hunt Executive, told PTI.

“The other international players include Abdul Razzaq, Taufeeq Umar and Shabbir Ahmed of Pakistan, …”

I did not know that Taufeeq Umar has also joined ICL. Is it true?

Re: ICL reveiled the roster: Inzi, Yousuf, Razzak confirmed

Why doesn't Pak introduce his own League? Indian outmoded us by strengthening Bollywood in past. We need to keep up with them. Warna aik time aye ga, every one will ask: "Pakistan bhi Cricket khelta tha?" But no, Mushy has other plans. :p
