Re: I want to write illustrated books for kids in Urdu
There are more questions than answers.
1. Which age group are you targeting ?
2. Are you planning for pure entertainment or life lessons or combination of both.
3. They will be targeted to kids in India and Pakistan or kids from Urdu speaking families outside Pakistan.
4. If you are targeting kids outside of Pakistan will you write those books to help them learn the language also.

- Yes you can call it full entertain ment....fairytale and adventerous stories.
- Yes for Urdu speaking families.

Re: I want to write illustrated books for kids in Urdu
My advice, pick a good collection of illustrated books for kids in English and translate them (or maybe re-write the story in urdu using same illustrations) and have your hubby or someone check that out ..
That will be a good start and will give you thought process that is needed

Re: I want to write illustrated books for kids in Urdu
Hareem, that is an awesome idea.
Listen, I have a lot of experience in the printing biznis. I've even helped write a few medical books. Totally different than kids books, but what the heck.
So let's talk.
Do you have a story in mind? A character set? Maybe do a series. Like the Hareem & Psyah collection, or Munni and Babloo. Two kids who live with their parents in America...and how they establish Islamic values in their home...
yeah... yeah???
..and just to further emphasize, definitely not nude.
Why would anyone have nude pics in a kid’s book
??
Unless they are animals, who don’t wear clothes. Then we have a problem. Hmmm.
Hareem, no pictures. Mullah X2 is right.
kids book can be educational and dealing with birds and the bees or art.
the first nudie I saw was in an illustrated science book for kids, not one of em lady bird numbers but something just beyond that.

why?

why?
well I dont personally care but the mullah patrol may go after you and declare you Kaffir, or Kefir milk or Keiffer Sutherland. something like that, Know what I mean.
Re: I want to write illustrated books for kids in Urdu
Thanks all
My husband will be doing the illustration part....I have chosen 12 unpopular stories of Brothers Grimm as an adaptation.
What do you do after writing and making pictures? Do you send them to publishers? How?
