Re: I want my jewerly exactly like this on wedding, what do you think?
hey Pakifairy.. this was the set I was talking abt.. I thnk something similar to this would be awesome
I think her look is gorgeous, especially for a valima..the dress, the mehndi, the makeup, the jewelery, its all very contemporary and modern, but not trashy or ugly.
Re: I want my jewerly exactly like this on wedding, what do you think?
hehe lol thats really funny and cute, thank god (most) ppl werent expecting that from me, i was trying really hard to be all composed but sometimes u just cant help it, i bet ppl were like dekho zara besharam amrikan dulhan astagfirullah:halo:
Re: I want my jewerly exactly like this on wedding, what do you think?
I like the last photo, but in general I think this look is too much for my taste. Too flashy for me. But there are definitely girls who can pull it off.

i dont know… her look just isnt doing it for me, the jewelry is nice but the makeup is too harsh and the neckline is too low, the overall look just doesnt seem so classy and elegant
btw lol at the whole discussion w/ pp :halo:
and as to the original question, yea its a cute set, would look nice on the valima
Re: I want my jewerly exactly like this on wedding, what do you think?
^ yeah it is a very difficult look to pull off and not many can.. whether this bride (she's real, not model) does or doesn't is purely subjective I guess... but I posted it because I wanted to show pakifairy (and others) the type of set I was talking abt. It's certainly very different than the gold, but it still manages to be elegant and very appropriate for a bride.
Re: I want my jewerly exactly like this on wedding, what do you think?
^ even though i dont like her overall look, i must admit her jewelry is UNIQUE, even the rings and bracelets shes wearing arent the typical desi stuff, and i looovee her tikka, its absolutely gorgeous
btw is her necklace attached to her dress??
Re: I want my jewerly exactly like this on wedding, what do you think?
Her set just doesn't look like a bridal set. I'd get it bigger, with gold and white stones. f you want to be modern and cutting edge and above all, unique, go for it. But make sure your dress is modern as well because otherwise it would look odd against a traditional lengha. It looks more suited for the valima rather than the wedding day.
Re: I want my jewerly exactly like this on wedding, what do you think?
well if its set in white gold, it would only be the cost of the white gold that would be expensive and the workmanship of it. the swarovskis themselves, well it depends. for instance, through my wholesaler and with a vendor permit, i can get 1200 crystals in one size, shape and color for about $90 Cdn. thats what im gonna do for my wedding lehenga- get them here and when the lehenga arrives from pakistan, stitch 'em on!
if its being made in pakistan, im sure they'd charge you more. it depends on your jeweller, really. you should go to someone who's known for their skill and craftsmanship.
oo where do you get your swaroski crystals from?
I know if you get them stitched on by the designer it costs a lot.
Does anyone know of any jewellery places in NY or NJ like the one ambar posted called kylescollection.
Re: I want my jewerly exactly like this on wedding, what do you think?
i get mine from a wholesaler in toronto.
theres also at least 2 shops in downtown toronto alone that sell them.
oh sigh I used to live in Toronto.......hmm does anyone know of any places here in NY?
Ok here's a problem what if you are getting your bridal dress from Pakistan but don't exactly know what color you want or whatever so you don't really know what kind of jewellery you're gonna buy. So would you guys suggest white gold with cubic zirconia sets from Pakistan if there's a need for it?
Re: I want my jewerly exactly like this on wedding, what do you think?
well is it possible to put it off and then get it when you get the clothes?
if not, i'd go with the classic pearls and white/clear kundan. that stuff goes with everything!

yea that's a good idea as well but I liked the crystals idea a lot .....would they have crystals in Pakistan by any chance? I know its a silly question
hmm I think if you show pictures of something you like to the jewellers in Pakistan, they might be able to make it for you .....not sure though
Re: I want my jewerly exactly like this on wedding, what do you think?
they'd make it but i don't know if you can get swarovski's in pakistan... you might have to buy them here and take them with you. also if its crystals on your jora then they would need them before, i just realised, cos once the kaam is done, there might not be place to add additional elements.
and yeah, thats how you get stuff made- by showing them a picture to be absolutely certain they know what u want.
