i just got my FLU shot. i’ve been receiving it for the last 2-3 years and it helps a lot. i haven’t had any FLU episode since then…this is my third year with no bout with FLU.
how about you? did you have your shots or are you planning to get one this year?
I had mine last week. I am used to it now and it truly helps a lot. I don't fall sick very often especially when I go out in cold weather . I just cn't afford being sick and staying in bed. It is better to get a flue vaccine,I think most of the full time workers do get it else it is hard to keep yourself fit in freezing Winter.

here in Canada, it's NOT mandatory...everyone is encouraged to get one but i've seen young people try to avoid having the shot...they think it's kinda sissy to have it or they'll or they can brave it out. i think it's sheer ignorance. if the protection is available then why NOT benefit from it!
Nah.. I'm not keen on needles and luckily I don't get the flu or colds very easily..
oh well, good for you :) if you don't get flue then it's fine i guess but having some protection is a good idea...so, what's your secret other than washing hands frequently and applying antibacterial gel?
I don't think I've had a flu shot in years. I'm a terrible person.
lol...if you do get, God forbid, don't give it to others...be possessive! lol...yeah, i too didn't get any flu shots up until a few years back but then DR asked em to get one as i am at a higher risk! :(
Last year my husband and daughter had it... and i dont know whether its a vaccine or what but none of us had any SEVERE flu.. had mild ones but i guess that might be some allergy.. I runned from the vaccination centre at eleventh hour. Too coward I am.
aaaaaaaaaawwwwwwww…don’t even try to run next time as Health Canada has decided to keep the doors locked until each and everyone is given a vaccine
these vaccines do not provide protection from ALL strains of the Flu virus but it does protect you from the most common ones. it sure does work…even if it doesn’t, the bout with the Flu is very mild.

Just a strong immune system I think (I get psoriasis which is another offshoot of a very strong/aggressive immune system, just not a very positive one lol).. Years ago at school when the nurses were testing us to see if we needed the BCG injection (for tuberculosis ) I was told I had natural immunity so didn't need that jab either.. That was good to hear :D

maashaa Allah, aap to 'laakhoN karoRoN meN ek haiN!" :D
I got mine a month and half ago.
oh wow! that early? here in Canada, it just became available last week. do you wear off the effects of the vaccine even before the winter is over? oh, i just realized you live in California and there the winter isn't as long or as severe as it is here...that explains. :)

Yeah we started getting the shots in August. And the vaccine lasts us the whole 'flu season'
I get my shot every year and I get flu every year. At least couple of times a year. I don't think anything is 100% effective. Same with my husband. He has to get flu shot since he works in a hospital and he gets severe flu every year. Obviously he is more exposed to the virus.

Are you getting the flu a couple times a year or a cold? I hope you aren't getting the flu a couple times a year..........that would be horrible!

Same here, it isn't mandatory. It is only compulsory for patients with Diabetics,Asthma and Heart disease, basically for those patients who are on regular medication. It is a choice for the rest to get it or ignore it. Yes,young people dislike visiting the doctor. I get it each year and I 'll be getting it because it saves my time, I stay active and healthy.
