Re: i had my FLU shot today. did you have yours?
the company I work for arranges to have a nurse come in and give those that want a shot.....I'll get it from them.
but I have to take Noor to get hers'.
Re: i had my FLU shot today. did you have yours?
I haven't had a flu shot in many many years. It doesn't help that I'm also very prone to getting sick and I do.
The reason I still don't get a shot is because I've seen my brother suffer through a drug-induced reaction from a flu shot that has negatively affected his long-term health. I realize this may be an unusual case or an anomaly but when you witness something like this in your own family, it's hard to overcome the bias.
Re: i had my FLU shot today. did you have yours?
nope. I don't feel the need to have one anymore.
Re: i had my FLU shot today. did you have yours?

Are you sure about that? My daughter is 2 and she had to have one, I'm pretty sure you're not too young to have one lol
Re: i had my FLU shot today. did you have yours?
i think they ration flu shots when there is a shortage, giving priority to those at risk.
Re: i had my FLU shot today. did you have yours?
I take extra vitamin C Tablets along side my diet, and havent had the flue for 2 years now Mashallah :)
Re: i had my FLU shot today. did you have yours?
here in Canada, it's NOT mandatory...everyone is encouraged to get one but i've seen young people try to avoid having the shot...they think it's kinda sissy to have it or they'll or they can brave it out.** i think it's sheer ignorance. if the protection is available then why NOT benefit from it!**
Do you know the contents of the flu-shot? I think that is a bigger ignorance among the people so fervent on taking the shot.
The flu-shot injects trivalent or quadrivalent strains of the common influenzas into the bloodstream. This infects the body with the viruses, and depending on your immune system, the symptoms may or may not show (i.e. cold, runny nose, coughs, etc.). The body reacts by building temporary immunity (typically lasts one season), which prevents getting infected with the same flu strains again. This is EXACTLY what the body does if one does not take the flu-shot and gets the flu spontaneously. Thus, I consider it a complete waste. It is just a very well marketed scheme by pharmaceutical companies who make a profit from people's ignorance. Also, there are tons of different flu strains and they are constantly mutating. The flu shot offers immunity only from 3 or 4.
