About stereotyping Pakistani people.
Baaki taraweehs k baad samjhaun gi, pleej continue the discussion.
Re: I don't want my kids growing up in Pakistan...
If the title was "would you like to move back to Pakistan". my answer would be yes, but the question is about my kids. That is one point where no parent think of patriotism more than of the safety and well being of their kids. Yes I love Pakistan, but I love my kids 1000 times more. Bitter truth but reality. Just like every sane parent living on this planet, I have right to pick the safest spot on this planet for my kids. Unfortunately, to the best of my knowledge, Pakistan is not amongst the list of such spots.
Fair enough! :)
Btw TLK bhai I would also like to hear what are your views about the question I just asked everybody here in my previous post. What should be done in those situations ?
Re: I don’t want my kids growing up in Pakistan…
well said
yes don’t let bad people/bad incidents define an entire nation or a country. Isn’t too fair is it
Re: I don't want my kids growing up in Pakistan...
So Pakistan's a craphole and Pakistanis are jahil, ignorant, bloodthirsty people.
Way to uplift the jashn-e-azaadi spirit.
In a Nutshell yes ... and what Jashn-e-Azaadi you are talking about ?
I spent this 14th August in Pakistan this year and believe me I didn't see any Jashn at all ... Azaadi o yea way too much Azaadi .. Ma'dar Pidar Azadii ..
Azaadi of going out on streets - dancing like jokers , one wheeling on streets putting your and other's lives in Danger ... Embarrassing/Harassing people who are out on streets with their families to spend a holiday ...
Azadi wazdi kuch nahii mili hum ko - from being John dier 's slave , we have become Kalay Khan's slave .... People dont have enough to eat - and yet you expect them to buy a flag and chant ' Dil dil Pakistan ' .... very naive of you my kid ....
A standing ovation for the residents of Pakistan for surviving in the worst place on the planet surrounded by the worst people on the planet.
They dont have a choice ... Give them a fair choice and your Pakistani population will go down to half in a month .....
IzaaT usay mile jo watan se nikal gaya
/sarcasm.
And then you lot get so darn angry when Pakistan people stereotype us foreigners of being behaya and whatnot.
Life is what you make it. Your puttar cannot dare look down on women if you embed it into his little brain that everyone is equal. Your daughter will not be deprived of education or career opportunities if you make her a strong woman. They will not be immature at adulthood if you teach them how to fend for themselves. And if you're telling me that this isn't going to work because of the way the society is, then I guess my daughter is going to get pregnant at the age of 15 and my son's going to be addicted to Guinness if I bring them up in Ireland!
I'm not refuting anything else that's been said in this thread about social injustice, crime rate, no safety, corruption etc. That is all bitter but true. And I'm not at all disappointed that people don't want to live in Pakistan especially amidst terrorism n all. Obviously that is everyone's personal preference and no one has a right to tell them otherwise. But the way ye painted all Pakistanis with the same brush didn't sound very nice. And no it's not the bitter truth because I'm not an alien to the country, I've been to a bazillion villages as well as the most developed cities of the country and I don't remember knowing anyone who condones anything that I condemn.
No, the nation isn't perfect but hey they're struggling to survive in extremely difficult conditions, give them a break! I know I won't be able to spend a day in the conditions that the majority of the poverty-stricken nation lives in so I'm not going to sit here and question them as to why they aren't thinking inqilaab when they have a million other things to be worried out such as where to get roti for the family today..
waiting for tamatars

Re: I don’t want my kids growing up in Pakistan…
Pakistan is the wonderful place to live . The privileges the rich people r getting in here people living in abroad cant even imagined of it .
say it like … i-dont-want-my-kids-growing-up-in-pakistan- because in Pakistan i m not in a position where i can give the best of the best to my kids . so is mai qasoor pakistan ka tou nhi hai na … ![]()
People are living n enjoying way much better life in Pak thn anywhere around the world as a 3rd class citizenship tag on so in short dont blame Pakland blame som1 else or yourself for the issues bla bla bla …
Re: I don't want my kids growing up in Pakistan...
: *aren't you actually a bit afraid that your future generation would be completely cut off from Pakistan and say your parents and siblings? Since a child born in the west and living up to a good 10-15 years would find it almost impossible to move to Pakistan. *.
As long as child is raised with Islamic foundation, why does it matter if he/she is raised in west or east. And if child is raised without Islamic foundation then its a disaster, no matter where he/she is raised.
We live in USA but my both daughters (8 and 5 yrs old) go to masjid school with their mother (who is the teacher and administrator of girls quran school). They are learning quran with beautiful tajweed and correct me often (mind it that I was born and raised in Pakistan). So here you go, an example between my kids and I that how you are raised is more important than where you are raised.

who is to blame then ..those who stay in Pakistan and continue with their 'hooliganish', i don't care behavior because they would be labelled as BAD anyway ...or to those who just move out and have declared k 'jaan chutti us hell se' ... arent they on the same line??
Re: I don’t want my kids growing up in Pakistan…
When we dont have law and order, corruption, chor bazari, rishwat khori, killing at its peak then phir qis ka qussor hova?

Those who are really enjoying their lives in Pakistan - are mostly dual national / passports are stumped / have enough money and resources to settle any where in this world ....
So as along as they are making the shyte amount of money , saving taxes , enjoying cheap labor - They are here .... But when the time comes - and it is going to be very soon ... You will be seeing all of them leaving YOUR LOVELY Pakistan Via first available flight ...
so bringing them in consideration is useless .... you know what i mean ?

so hadnt both make their choices/beds ?
why to blame any ?
And if you carry a ' do care attitude ' - I dont think any one would label you as Bad

doesnt this stereotype all Pakistanis labelling them as jokers ?
Re: I don't want my kids growing up in Pakistan...
Why did People came to Pakistan ?
Because they dont want to raise their Kids in India - what ever factors you acknowledge in defence of their decision ... Freedom of expression / practicing religion and Values , better economic openings ... Blah blah blah ....
so what's wrong if some one doesn't want his/her kids to be raised in Pakistan ... fair play I say :)
Re: I don't want my kids growing up in Pakistan...
something has been bugging me for ages so i have to let it out now...
Zareen, how old are you?
if i were a betting woman i'd have you down as 13, coz that's how you sound in 99.9% of your posts.
Can we open the betting after Ramadan pleaseeeeeeeeeee?

Did I say All - but yes those who were engaged in mentioned activities ... They are jokers for sure .... And to be honest there was a huge chunk of youth involved ...
Putting down your observations is not stereotyping :)

Absolutely agreed! it's all up to each persons' personal preferences. but if I don't want to raise my kids in the UK (US etc) I don't go saying ..that UK is a hell hole and full of crappy racially prejudiced people with no moral values and all they do is get drunk and get laid. Doesn't seem fair to all the practising God fearing Muslims and even to the nicer law abiding kind goras for that matter there.
This is my only issue ! Rest in my other thread of Pakistan vs Western lifestyle I said the same ...am not against anyone or any way of living .. :) I just don't like generalization and stereoptyping every single Pakistani into a one big evil bunch of losers and Pakistan an unsafe haven of terrorism. That kind of stings. Especially when we have the entire world saying that anyway :)

Yes ...a large chunk of youth is sadly quite deviating from what is considered appropriate behavior...and they SHOULD be condemned.
Re: I don’t want my kids growing up in Pakistan…
Jashn-e-azaadi spirit, Naabigh praa, spirit… not celebrations, not naach gana, not hoo haa. Putting words into my mouth aiwin ![]()
And why is that? Because Pakistan isn’t the safest place on the planet right now nor the most developed one. Because the government sucks and the legal system is a failure. Never disagreed with any of this at all.
Absolutely. My last para was addressing these very people who struggle to survive in extremely difficult conditions.
Did you guys even read my post? ![]()
I didn’t disagree with the reasons given by people as to why they won’t bring their families to Pakistan (I completely agree with them) I only disagreed with the posts that stereotyped Pakistanis in a not so nice way.
Re: I don't want my kids growing up in Pakistan...
I suppose one day when your kids are old enough (may be uni level) you plan to return to UK?
No, not really. :)
