I don't want my kids growing up in Pakistan...

Re: I don't want my kids growing up in Pakistan...

Also, the people who live in the west and think just by sending their sons and daughters to Sunday Islamic school will make sure they turn out pious and chaste, you guys are in for a big surprise when they grow up, goto colleges... I dont blame them... from blending in to being rebellious, they're human beings too.

Obviously, such problems have crept up in Pakistan too..

Each side thinks they're kids will turn out to be good pious 'Muslims'.

Re: I don't want my kids growing up in Pakistan...

is this **their **fault? the average Pakistani Muslim? They are the ones getting killed ...these Pakistanis have their families ruined yet they should be the ones to be ashamed of something that is not in their hands?

I just ask you once ..security lapse or whatever ..how can you prevent a suicide bomber when he is with 100 % intention that he'll kill himself and kill a thousand of people. Can police stop them? (Yes our police does try to as always but as stats show Police officials were the ones who eventually suffered the most).

Ok we say there are weak security checks..even if a guard would stop them at the entrance wouldn't he blow himself up there too?
Just pray nobody ever in the west or any country ever have to face this ! maut kisi ko bata ker nahi aati...whether a person is sitting in a mansion surrounded by forces or whether walking in the midst of violent area unarmed :)
What is an average Pakistani's fault in this? :)

such posts make me SO disappointed !

Re: I don’t want my kids growing up in Pakistan…

So what should we be thinking then?* chor badmash*? lutera daku? :hehe:

Re: I don't want my kids growing up in Pakistan...

What do you mean by that? There are hundreds of graduates from these universities every year who are very brilliant!! PU/UET may not be as good as Stanford or other IVY league but these students are equally brilliant if not more than the students who have opportunity to study at prestigious universities.

Re: I don’t want my kids growing up in Pakistan…

Significance is strong on this one.

So do some of the Mothers here continue to believe there exists no libraries for Children in Pakistan?

Re: I don't want my kids growing up in Pakistan...

Please do give me all the web links and addresses of the libraries...you already mucked up the birds example better not mess up the facts about libraries in pak.

Re: I don’t want my kids growing up in Pakistan…

hareem actually to b honest everything is available in Pak though its not accessible to every1 but 10 to 15% of total high elite class so for tht one need to b filthy rich thts all so if u r really rich n not get everything then tell me :chai:

Re: I don't want my kids growing up in Pakistan...

Buddy I know how it works everywhere in terms of money...libraries are supposed to be free for public otherwise you have bookshops. But you see in pak people don't even return books back that's why they closed down the library in my college.

Re: I don't want my kids growing up in Pakistan...

u bring tons of tons of money i will arrange libraries n anything else tht u required for u :D

Re: I don't want my kids growing up in Pakistan...

Deal.

Re: I don't want my kids growing up in Pakistan...

yup

lets seal the deal .

Re: I don't want my kids growing up in Pakistan...

All you get out of my post was the irrelevant Incorrect quote (to you) I had in there. And then comes the ignorance to Spocks remarkable post (My opinion).

Fine, I messed up there.

Ultimate question. Would you own up to your mess up's? if any.

Re: I don't want my kids growing up in Pakistan...

You don't need to defend Spock. Spock knows my take on this issue very well. I actually once asked for his advice too so you don't need to take things too serious.

Re: I don't want my kids growing up in Pakistan...

I know Spock as much as I know anyone here.

Thread is serious.

Re: I don't want my kids growing up in Pakistan...

you're obviously bored.

Re: I don't want my kids growing up in Pakistan...

you're obviously a moderator.

Re: I don't want my kids growing up in Pakistan...

Some one here talked about discrimination, all those who says muslims or pakis are discriminated in west talk pure crap. During my 8 years stay in uk i was never discriminated once. No one can stop you from landing good opportunities in west if you have got something in you. But in Pakistan its totally different even if you are Harvard graduate you need Chacha, Mamma, Taya, Phupa, Papa etc to get you a decent opportunity. This i am telling from my personal exp after moving back to pak i thought with my educational background and work exp i shouldn't have a problem to land a good job in pak but i was in for a shock so like all other pakistanis i had to use help of my chacha, mama and once i had it everything was offered on a plate :) If you want to live in Pak you need to have right connections than your life is heaven otherwise at times you will find going very tough. But i still feel the kind of freedom we have in Pakistan you cant enjoy that kind of freedom in the world. We are basically a care free society as we say in Pakistan sub chaltha hai :)

Re: I don't want my kids growing up in Pakistan...

Its waste of time and energy to compare life of pakistan with west. Both have its merits and demerits. In west you have to do everything on your own but here in Pak you have got people to do things for you. There is no comparison few things i like about uk and few i like about Pakistan but i think both are great. Here in pak you need to be bit more careful while doing any Hanky Panky so that no one sees you but in wild wild west you can do whatever you like no one to see you :)

Re: I don't want my kids growing up in Pakistan...

We have tried going back to Pak too but there aren't many jobs there...and you have to have contacts to get a job in Pak as someone else mentioned so only option most of us living outside have is to leave without our husbands and let them send us monies every month to live a reasonable life in Pakistan in a safe gated area.

If I see Pakistan becoming better than West in terms of morality and security I won't refuse moving there. But you see, most Pakistanis here are taking an offence to the fact that Pakistani society is no better than West or may be worse when it comes to moral values.

Thing I don't like about some Pakistani living here in west is that they don't treat these countries as their home, they make money but don't take part in building up the society because they think one day they are going back and hence they have no obligation to treat this country (UK or USA etc) as their home.

But yeah I've left the hope of my husband taking a job in Pak after the attacks on engineers working in O&G, and for the same reason I don't want him to take a job in some of the African countries where things aren't stable.

Re: I don’t want my kids growing up in Pakistan…

This thread is still alive. wow! :k:
