Re: I don't want my kids growing up in Pakistan...
Well i was only explaining WHY you guys need more of those services than us. Simple! I already said self education is not wrong i.e reading the books to upgrade yourself. But you still can't compare it to having an elder guide you personally.
I never said there was an issue with working people, where did you get that from?!
What?
LOL, I meant whatever it is that we are doing here in the US OR UK is working as a SYSTEM. I didn't say anything about working people. lol :D

Honestly, i wouldn't want an elderly teaching me to raise a child. Call it ego or whatever, I would like me and my husband to do the raising. That's just my opinion. I believe it's for this reason, people here would rather pick up a parenting book than invite a grandmother to help her out. It's not wrong but it's sure different. I won't be comfortable taking parenting lessons from my mother - let alone my mother in law.
Arey, we folks living outside of Pakistan have created our own network here…it’s because we value our culture and religion that we still hang out in desi gatherings, go for taraveeh and even take our kids there. The OP asked us a simple question and we replied. We aren’t asking you folks in Pakistan to move to the US or UK. Obviously you love it there and that’s great, and we kinda like it here as well. Doesn’t mean we hate Pakistan…it’s just that some things don’t agree with us anymore. We’ve changed. That doesn’t make us bad or you better. As long as we both uphold our pride in being Pakistani, contribute to it’s socio-economic development in some way, I think it’s fair. No?
Re: I don't want my kids growing up in Pakistan...
It caused a major fit last time around that ended up with a few post deletes. Wouldnt want a repeat of that, being shown the getting personal card, not the bestest of achievements out there. :)
If people cant differentiate between a friendly banter and taunt - That's not my fault ....
In every second post here , posters have blindly used the words ' Stereotyping ' ' Generalizing ' ' Getting personal ' .... does any body really understand what do they really mean ?
