You should be admiring his love for you instead of fretting about his comments about your beauty. If he says that you are not the prettiest girl in the world and still loves you and cares about then it is more admirable. If he had told you that since you are not pretty is he going to look for the prettiest girl in the world to get married to then it would be a thing of concern and something to fret about. No ?
Aww that is rite...b4 i was gonna reply with something different but i think i agree with you. However i can also feel why aminch is probably feeling like that. It's a tough situation because at one side you are being hurt but on the other side you ateast know he is honest with you and admire you and chose you for your inner qualities which are gonna stay with you forever and not for your outer beauty which is gonna fade one day. It's really how you see it and how you wanna interpret it. It must be hard though esp because nobody wants to be told that they are beautiful for their love but would u rather have him lie to you?.
Also, honestly as much as i feel for you and understand that you are hurt i dont think you really love him either. Because if this comment is making you think of ending your relationship with him than that probably tells that your relationship with him is not that strong in the first place.

It’s real simple. You know you love him, and he loves you too. He said something, that you think was rather rude, when infact, it could just as well be a compliment (though not wrapped so nicely). So look at it like this: The guy loves you for all your qualities and not yet your beauty. I do agree he *shouldn’t have *said it like that.
This based on like EMM said, your side of it. He probably isn’t even thinking about it at a micro-level like you are. So just let it go. It’s not like he says it repeatedly to make a point out of it, which btw might become an issue if he says it again and again and in the same context.
And yes, you can tell me ‘Thank You Dr. Phil’ i won’t mind

I agree whole heartedly with you. I will add more to it. I have seen with my own eyes. A very pretty girl I knew and admired her beauty got married .Within months of her marriage. She developed some thyroid related disease she got so ugly and fat that I was not able to recognize her. Her husband is very handsome guy himself. But did that end their relationship ? No. They still are married have kids and are living happily after. And by the way it was an arranged marriage not a love marriage.
The point being that the real beauty which counts is inner beauty , beauty of character. The outer beauty can turn into ugliness due to an an accident in minutes or due to an illness over a short period of time.
This poor fellow is telling the truth and his real feeling has beauty of character , he is not a fool and should be given a break.
