I thought it was an average ending at best. Yes, most of the points were expected, and should have happened, but the way most of the things happened was questionable. I thoroughly disagree with the dialogue between Ashar and his mother, and the words that he used to justify the purity of his wife. Yes, his wife was wronged, and yes, his mother had wronged her, but no way on earth would a son ever utter such words to his mother, regardless of how wrong/bad she is, that too in front of his wife. You can perhaps find a more subtle way of replying, or isolating her, but to indirectly question her sanctity is a no-no, and I felt it was added just to add some un-needed drama to the show. The writer did a bad job with this issue.
I also disagree with how Khizer practically got away with murder. He got his money from Fareeda Aunty, he tried his hand at getting Sara, she died, and he returns to the US. He didnt even get a single comeback from anyone of his victims, Ashar and Khirad, other than the little girly slap he got in the previous episode.
Other than that, a nice drama.
In real life, they all would have gotten away with it including Asher's mother, not just Khizer.
I think the ending was pretty good.
This drama has gotten so much hype which is why I automatically disliked it from the get-go. If it wasn't overly hyped to the point where it became annoying even hearing anybody say "Humsafar", the play would have gotten a lot more respect than it already has. Anyway, that's just my 2 cents.

The end. It shows that Asher is a gentleman throughout. He still takes care of his mom after all that she did. This was a very poignant moment in keeping with our tradition. Farhat Istiaq knows the pulse of our nation. Fareeda has gone crazy but she is still at home. There would have been a big backlash if he throw out in the street or put her in a mental asylum.
I absolutely hated the scene in hyderabad. Very poor transition.

Shocked at how kirad went back to asher’s home, I was like “what?? ” Asher speech at the door had me in tears … strong and really shows the state he is in/bought down to.
Fareeda acting was also good especially at the flashbacks.

No doubt one of the best drama ever watch
And yeah the host of the live show just talks too much ….. stop watching half way …

I personally loved the ending! I don't think they could have possibly done anything else other than what they showed. The last scene was very nicely done, and I agree with some others regarding Ashar's treatment of his mother - I am so glad he kept his mom around and took care of her. The confrontation between Ashar and Fareeda in the first scene was amazingly handled, loved Ashar's dialogues and the expressions he gave. It was subtle YET so powerful!
Hats off to the director (especially!!), Fawad, Mahira and Naveen for giving us this amazing piece of entertainment for the past so many weeks that kept us all glued to our tvs on Saturday nights!
Humsafar will definitely be missed. :(

and after an emotional, tear-jerking drama, i think a sad ending would have made all of us angry and bitter. it would be unnecessary.
