re: -HUMSAFAR-
Twinklestar, Khirad could have easily told Asher that she has no desire to speak to him about the issue given how he treated her over the past four years.
She said nothing. She could have said a million things but says nothing.

re: -HUMSAFAR-
Twinklestar has a point. Any man would rather trust his mother over a wife of barely one year!
Anyway those of you who think Khirad should've said something to Asher, well maybe Farhat Ishtiaq is herself not very bright and could not think of that possibility! Just because she is a writer, doesnt mean she is clever enough to think of all posibilities?? ;)
re: -HUMSAFAR-
I have not read previous posts due to spoliers...but O boy O boy I am on Episode 12 where all the drama happens with Khirat....Let's me say I have lost sleep after watching these 12 episodes in one day. What a shocker!!
re: -HUMSAFAR-
excellent review. A thorough analysis of the episode.
re: -HUMSAFAR-
The way I see is that Khrid is not portrayed as Frishta rather very egoistic human with extreme stubbornness. These are negative qualities of an otherwise very sweet character.I think the message here could be the importance of communication between a couple and not letting the ego come in the way.
I however think that Khird is definately overlooking the fact that once she is gone Fareeda can be dangerous for her daughter. Without Asher knowing the truth he can easily be manipulated by his mother. Also she must have gotten the clue that Asher still does not know anything of what happened that night and she is just being stubborn to think that he no matter what he should have taken her side. She is dismissing the love and influence of a mother. She is not giving him benefit of doubt. She herself is unaware of what happened after Asher came home and how desperate he wanted to talk to her but she was gone by then.
But Again Farhat Ishtiaq wrote a mediocre and typical Khawateen digest novel and had no idea what a huge success it will be thanks to good-looking cast and decent direction.
re: -HUMSAFAR-
hello!
ok this is probably one of the nicest dramas iv ever watched...their acting is superb. underplayed, not ott and the chemistry is marvelous! im not commenting on the screenplay, dialogues etc. it was the overall experience that was good n thats what counts!
can anyone recommend any other pakistani drama or movie that is this good? once this is over im going to have withdrawal symptoms. need a backup drama asap please!!!

I am guessing you haven't seen Dastaan yet? That would make you lose a lot of sleep!

and also short-sighted :) I think we had talked about this probably 50 pages ago that all the characters have their flaw. Even though Khirad is being shown as a "white-washed" character that we are supposed to sympathize with but she really isn't. She has serious egotistical issues that she is not willing to compromise on even when it comes to her daughter. In that sense, she is like a 'white washed' version of Fareeda. Fareeda's ego was severely hurt and thus her 'evil' reaction. We can say that Khirad doesn't want her ego to be hurt anymore so she has setup these barriers around her that even her daughter's love cannot penetrate. Def. not a good quality to have when it comes to your children and their future and well being :)
re: -HUMSAFAR-
a very well written review and discussion
re: -HUMSAFAR-
ok so i read the reviews and i really like one line from it
**"I was struck by the similarity in her present attitude to that of Ashar’s obdurate stance four years ago, when he had refused to heed any of Khirad’s pleas"
yeah **i agree he didnt listened to her when she wanted to say
re: -HUMSAFAR-
I am surprised to see how many gals are calling Khirad egoistic, stubborn, etc.etc...if she doesn't have any feelings for Ashar...as she says several times in different episodes, she sends Laanaat on him, she hears all his cheap talk about how mean she is ...how it is just waqtee samjothaa, how great he is to forgive her...etc etc...sorry ...if I put myself in her shoes...I wouldn't want to live with him for one second either.....yes..she sacrificed her dignity for her daughter...but if she takes her daughter with her...would he let her go....didn't he tell her before bringing her to his house....it was his majbooree to do that....otherwise he would have taken the girl away from her...and I have seen millions of cases in Pakistan where fathers take the kids away from mothers....no matter what....only one thing that bothers me in her decision is she knows how Freeda is ...she needs to inform him about that...but than would he believe her?
re: -HUMSAFAR-
*Mahira Khan's character is perceived as a farishta from Jannat by keeping her mouth shut .... that is the idiotic message that has been put forth. *
I understand that she keeps saying that she is just there for her child. I get that she doesn't care and he can say whatever he wants, but in real life, most women would not just sit there with their mouth shut unless they did not believe in themselves (self-esteem) or had some sort of fear of a reaction ...
Her child is ok now and has received the medical help she required. This was her reason for putting up with Asher, living in his house and keeping her mouth shut. At this point, Khirad should have said something to Asher when he was going on at her by the beach.
I am going to be glad when this drama is over. I am getting fed up of having to read about this serial in other serial threads that have nothing to do with Humsafar.
don't think that's the message, but some may perceive it that way.
the message is that Asher is no longer a part of her life. She doesn't need to explain to herself to a man she no longer wants to be with. She resents him that much. But it's getting excessive now, because theye both starting to rediscover their feelings, so from that pov she shoulda spoken up a little in the last epi.

I don't watch all dramas....but the one I have....after reading reviews etc...I loved all of them...here is my list:
DAASTAAN
DAAM
MERI ZAAT ZARAA E BENISHAAN
QAID E TANHAYEE ( didn't finish it yet...watched only 2 episodes and couldn't force myself to watch more...but great reviews on this one too..)
re: -HUMSAFAR-

I agree.
I also see the other side that she should say something now because its a drama and it should be sending out a positive message. Like jolie said Khirad should've said a strong one liner to leave Asher thinking.

you are SPOT on!
re: -HUMSAFAR-
Yes Agree :k: . You know how it may appear like Khirad is perfect , when you look closely at the character you do notice some flaws but I think these are flaws are largely overlooked due to her innocence.
re: -HUMSAFAR-
My friend goes to me yesterday fareeda is hotter than sara and khirad lol
Love the fact that Asher forgives Khirad even though he doesnt know the truth yet..unlike MZZB..in which Imran Abbas says to Faisal Qureshi..k kash apne talaq dene k bjae ye kaha hota k maine tumhe maaf kia(duno the exact lines but this was it)
