I just started watching this drama after seeing the promo. Plus I recently finished Dastaan (yup I'm kinda late on that one lol) and found it oh so amazing! So now i've started this one and akbari asghari. I think Fawad's doing well in akbari asghari.. I mean from the previous role I saw him, in I couldn't believe he was the same actor!

I couldnt wait for the story to unfold... read the novel in one and half day!.... totally love every bit of it... now I am even more eager to watch it!!.... I think the cast is just perfect according to the novel!
they should really air it twice a week.... coz weeks are seeming to be longer than normal!

don't know daaro or the other words like kifaalatein, taajali etc.
Me thinks (just a guess here) that kurkura surma is dried surma (powdered kajal). Surma after getting wet (thru tears probably) has dried up into small pieces and has become "crunchy".

As already posted the original ghazal was sung by Abida Parveen and Moomal (Producer of the drama) must have heard this ghazal in her Mother in law's (Sultana Siddiqui) company, who is the biggest fan of Abida Parveen. Moomal took that ghazal bcoz it suits the subject of the drama.
Now coming to your guesses for Kurkura Surma and Daaroo.... Actually Abida Parveen sung some lines from other Ghazals, etc in between the actual ghazal written by 'Naseer Turabi'. Kajal Daloon (not daroo) line is from the famous kalam of Ameer Khusro 'Chhaap tilak sab chi". here are the complete lyrics of Ameer Khusro's kalaam:
