-HUMSAFAR-

re: -HUMSAFAR-

I drove my car into a tree thinking about whats going to happen next in Humsafar!

re: -HUMSAFAR-

Where are all the old servants of the house like Jamal and Noorafza gone? And how did they decorate the little kiddie room so quickly?
Impressive acting by Fawad Khan in this episode. Mahira lacked dialogues and expressions I feel.

re: -HUMSAFAR-

I agree, I think we've all become a bit too critical about Humsafar. I didn't think today was a drag. Although I think Hareem warms up a bit too quickly to Ashar in the beginning when they had just met, the rest of the episode was good in developing a father-daughter relationship. I think Khirad feels a tad insecure seeing how quickly Hareem has become attached to Ashar and hence she loses her calm when giving her medicine...Khirad really can't take it out on Ashar, so Hareem it is. They changed it a bit from the novel, Ashar brings them to a new house in the novel. Let's see how this plays out.

Twinklestar - Sarmad handled the barfing scenes well when khirad was initially pregnant, the scene at her friends house and the one in their bedroom, but Ashar doesn't pick up on it...and I agree with devilish angel...they are merely communicating because of their daughter's well-being, so what they say is calculated and necessary. Discussion would only be relevant if there was a genuine, mutual desire to reconcile, or find closure. Both of them with their egos aren't looking for any of that, they hate each other. Their tolerating each other because of their daughter.

Mona Nisa - I too was wondering where all the servants went??

re: -HUMSAFAR-

Khirad yelling at hareem was just to show what she was going through. She's a human, although she did all that for her daughter and later on she was happy to see her daughter being taken care of but she needed time to adjust in a house from which she was thrown out and with a person who was responsible for making her life miserable.

re: -HUMSAFAR-

yup, tooo critical.

i enjoyed it. Hareem is sooo cute.

I agree with Sehar about Khiard losing her calm....

BUt, can they pleasssse talk to each other, why does it always have to be circumstance that does things to them.

re: -HUMSAFAR-

Good point. We all know that it is not easy for POOR SINGLE MOM IN PAKISTAN.......wish that they would have shown Khirad's dedication to her daughter more. It wasn't a drag and I did like the father daughter scenes. However I don't understand if this is the same house as they were in before or a new house? I really like how the Sarmad develops the chemistry between Asher and Khirad of two people who don't want to together and are thrown together because of circumstance and to fulfill their parents wishes. I wish there was scenes where Asher realizes the hell that Khirad has been thru. There is a scene where is she is praying and Asher asks where Hareem is and Khirad says she is taking a bath. I found that a bit odd that you could let a 4 year old take a bath by herself. Yes, it true its only a drama and some of us expect too much but I think the first half was directed flawlessly. As a viewer there are more loopholes in this part of the story I suppose compared to what i heard was in the novel.

This is the same problem I found with Pani Jaisa Pyar - I felt it was very rushed and the director didnt spend enough time developing relationships.......just my 2 cents or maybe I have become so obsessed with this drama .....who knows

re: -HUMSAFAR-

I'm finding the little girl too annoying. For one, why is the writer so focused on inserting random English words everywhere? 4 year olds are chatty, but they certainly don't talk the way this girl does. She's also too tall for a 4 year old... I suppose I'm being overly critical, but I found myself cringing everytime Hareem was onscreen and talking to her father... And I wish Khirad would say something to Asher!!! Why is she not yelling at him for being an idiot?! Argh!

re: -HUMSAFAR-

Have to give it to Fawad Khan. Acting in a 20-episode-drama with THAT one expression is no mean feat.

re: -HUMSAFAR-

There is a general slowness in this drama, I maybe not able to put it convincingly in words but there's is something about this drama that I find quite still/mundane, maybe thats why people get the impression that its dragging.

I think its nice to see people so committed to critiquing this drama, its always nice to read peoples opinion and reaction after every saturday. Some us just have different expectations. :)

actually I think Hareem redeemed herself somewhat. Biggest problem is that she is too tall. According to her fb run by her dad she will be 7 this month. Then she was probably 6 when this was shot but she is talk fr her age. No offense to the little girl she is very cute but she is inst cast probably. but the viewer should overlook that because it may difficult o find a girl that looks that age and can act. But more annoying is the fact that is this a rental or the same house...,or how Asher accepts that this his daughter. Also director doesn't clarify that she calls him picture walk pala Bc in the novel Hareem plays with a picture locket that Asher gives Khirad. That's how she recognizes Asher. Bit director still doesnt clarify this point. I think the viewers could understand the father daughter relationship without too much dialogue....I think we are more interested in seeing Asher and Khirad dialogues....and how this misunderstanding is resolved properly. I wasn't too crazy about how Sarmad Khoosat handled some issues in Pani jaisa pyar despite having an all stat cast.

re: -HUMSAFAR-

I hate the way Asher treated Khirad in this episode. She's been through so much hell (because of him and his family), I just find it really annoying. Especially with Khirad not saying anything back to him. I understand she's keeping quiet because of Hareem but I wouldn't be able to stand it.

I also think Hareem warmed up to Asher too quickly. But the actress doesn't bother me. It's rare to find good, talented child actors in Pakistan. So many of them get cast because of family relations. And Hareem's acting isn't too annoying.

I'm excited for the next episode. I just really want Asher to find out the truth about what happened that night. And I hope Sara and Asher's mom get what's coming to them.

re: -HUMSAFAR-

Yeah, the whole picture thing bothered me too. Generally the drama's been good with details (in the first half anyway) but they're slacking a little bit now...

Ditto the parts in bold! I guess the little girl is OK, you're right about good child actors, but I find her dialogues really really annoying. And why can't she call Asher Abbu instead of Papa (no offense to anyone who calls their father Papa, BTW)? The constant "Papa" really grates on my nerves...

re: -HUMSAFAR-

I guess this episode was all about Asher bonding with his daughter, very natural interaction between the two, not overly sappy or emotional. But doesn't he wonder at all where his daughter has been for the last 4 yrs, where they lived and under what conditions did Khirad bring her up? Doesn't he have a million questions running in his head, because whatever he has believed of her in the past just doesn't match up with what he sees today! is he slow to catch on?

Asher is rather slow....I would really wonder where my daughter was and why she is so sick.....what conditions did she live under .....etc....the novel takes much much better care of answering these questions.....I think the team just got sloppy with tese details.......I believe these are the reasons why the actors are a bit surprised with the success of the drama. The first half was done superbly. Probably the only complaint was how Baseerats death was handled. It was hastily done and then Khirad starts going to university. Bit otherwise there were so many memorable scenes. I hinestly think the drama started lose momentum from the time Khirad gets kicked out o the house. That the episode was epic and mind blowing. Also the episode where Hareem was born was pretty good. Some powerful dialogues that Khirad
Has with newborn Hareem. I am waiting for next weeks episode and hope the drama picks up. Bit honestly dramas like doraha, QeT, daam and even Mzzb developed and executed the story much better. Humsafar has on its side 2 sizzling leads by unfortunately the script and execution leaves something to be desired. Don't get me wrong I am a big fan and anxiously wait for the drama but there are so many things that have done differently and in keeping with the novel. Especially that Ashe should have bought his family to a rental Bc in this house one wonders where the servants are....don't theybrecigniE Khirad.....surely they would have some questions....your wife disappears for 4.5 years and you don't want any contact with her and consider her dead ....i would at least find out where the heck she has been....

re: -HUMSAFAR-

I can't wait to see Ashar on his knees, begging for forgiveness from Khirad! :-D

re: -HUMSAFAR-

We are all looking forward to that scene lol.

re: -HUMSAFAR-

For me this drama has 2 major flaws in the story, maybe someone who has read the novel can explain...

  1. What happened to the letter Khirad gave to Jamal? Has this been overlooked or will it come up at some crucial moment?

  2. Why doesn't Asher question the absence of Khizar in Khirads life? Surely he would suspect something is not right since his psycho mother claimed the two had eloped.

re: -HUMSAFAR-

Here's what happened in the last episode. Asher took Khirad and his daughter to his home. One hour wasted in some lovey dovey scenes, end of episode. Next episode OOooOOOOOooOO Crapppp Sara sees them together .... ! Can't wait to see the next episode :D

I think not only they know how to produce a good drama, but know how well to drag it.

re: -HUMSAFAR-

agreed with twinklestar...there can't be a comparison b/w the likes of Qet and Daam with Humsafar

and is it only me or anyone alse too thinks Fawad just CANNOT act!!?

re: -HUMSAFAR-

plz check spoilers latter thing is discussed there
