^ hahaha that is hilarious...even little girls are into Asher! "he looks French...and brown..." lol
To this generation this drama is what "tanhayan" or "dhoop kinaray" was for us, they won't forget it

re: -HUMSAFAR-
uffffff don't even get me started on that!!!!!! makes me so mad, i wanna scream. and let's not forget the pathetic, untrusting men in these situations! who don't believe or trust these women (MZZB,QET and now Humsafar). what kind of dysfunctional relationships are these dramas potraying and passing off as real relationships!!
Agreed! But what we are forgetting is that umera and farhat are primarily afsanwi writers, novels and stories very high on drama and emotion....something that is not very reality based. Now the trend is taking these afsanas and putting them onscreen, sometimes works sometimes doesn't. They do portray women coming out stronger in the end but at what cost? Is that the right msg to convey?
re: -HUMSAFAR-
^ certainly NOT. especially now that this formula has been done to death and people are sick of it. I said this earlier here and I'll say it again, playwrights need to stop defining characters entirely on stereotypes: rich=evil, poor=saint. saas=evil, husband=untrusting-pea brained-mama's boy, wife= gold digger OR spineless-mute-sage.
Another formula that makes me want to throw up is that of women who DO try to make something of their lives but end up isolating everyone and become rich, miserable or simply become prostitutes. Makes me wonder about the messed up psyche of the playwright and directors. It's almost like they enjoy watching the female characters suffer, sometimes too graphically (MZZB,QET)
I think one of the reasons Daam was so popular was that although it discussed social issues, it also gave people hope by showing a positive future for the primary female characters, one of whom got happily married and the other became successful professionally and personally (even if it was with humayun saeed :p). so yes we can discuss social issues, without overwhelming the viewers and resorting to the same message that women should suffer in silence BECAUSE sommmmmmmmmmmmeeee day SOMEone will realize that an injustice was committed and might make amends. BOOHOOOO, stupid tareen message.

re: -HUMSAFAR-
I might have forgotten the details from teh novel, but my impression was that Khirad did not know when Asher was supposed to come back home.I remember when I read it I also thought that if she did not know how did Fareeda know when Asher was coming and plan this all ahead of time.I might be wrong.
Lol at CSI episodes. The Yale graduate was ‘tunn’ when everything was happening…![]()

agreed! they need to stop using these dated afsanas as screenplays...more stories on female emancipation please to educate and entertain at the same time, this stuff is getting painful to watch now, hardly entertaining! these writers are talented enough to write original screenplays like umera ahmed did 'daam'.

LOL!! someone call the Yale MBA office and find out what kind of graduates they are giving degrees to!!
re: -HUMSAFAR-
I agree with you guys. I realllyreallyreally want a strong female character from Umera. One who fares better after society mistreats her rather than crawling into a hole and sulking. SHe needs to show a character that can surpass desi limitations on a woman and still have a positive and commendable influence on the world.
re: -HUMSAFAR-
well i think Khirad will be a strong female character righT?
thats hiow she raises her daughter all alone and raises her quite well, from what ive heard
re: -HUMSAFAR-
yeah but fate forces her 2 return 2 asher 4 help
re: -HUMSAFAR-
well i hope when she does return to him, it's only for the kid and doesn't fall in love with him all over again. btw, it would've been a lot more beliveable, if Sara had staged the whole khizer-gate , given that khizer is in love with sara and willing to do whatever she asks. Yeah aik dum MIL ko kia bemaari hoee that she became a star plus ki saas.
re: -HUMSAFAR-
Exactly...why is khizar opening doors for ashar. How dumb can he be....
Plus I'm pretty sure sarah is also involved. Let's see what happens next week
re: -HUMSAFAR-
A small attempt by my friends and I. Enjoy!
re: -HUMSAFAR-

re: -HUMSAFAR-
OK Girls…lets all give Farhat Ishtiaq some credit now.. she has proved beyond doubt that men are indeed dumb!!! ( even the ones who graduate from elite universities!) ![]()
re: -HUMSAFAR-
avtually men r men no matter how broad minded or educated they r but in these situations they just cant think rationally bc izzat ki baat jo a jati hai :)
