Hifz and amaan both mean the same thing = protection/security
Hifz also means ‘to memorize’…like you hear the word 'Haafiz"…the one who has memorized Qur’aan

in Arabic, the base word is Hifz. many other words are derived from it like:
Hafeez = protector
moHaafiz = protector
Hifzaan = protection [Hifzaan e seHat = heath protection]
Haafiz = the one who has memorized [Qur'aan]
Haafizeen = plural of Haafiz
etc
